Yoshitaka Amano is the artist behind the look of Vampire Hunter D, it's surprising that you didn't mention him in your post despite claiming Bloodlust is your favorite movie. Although, he is not the author of the original Vampire Hunter D. novels, he was hired to illustrate them. His work is prolific (Final Fantasy, Angel's Egg, Guin Saga etc.)
Also, the blog can't be found in my browsing history or bookmarks because 1) the last time i read that blog was many years ago, 2) I read that blog on a computer that no longer works properly, and 3) I did bookmark that blog post, but I deleted it shortly after reading it, thinking that I would not want to read that post again.
plus, the blog was entirely in English, so googling names in kanji won't help.
finally, the Saint Laurent collection was for Summer 2013, not Summer 2023. Hedi Slimane no longer designs for Saint Laurent; he now works for Celine.
My mistake for writing 2023, instead of 2013. Yoshiaki Kawajiri was the director and Yutaka Minowa was the animation director. From the beginning of the prodution of the film both acknowledged in several interviews that the character designs in Vampire Hunter D bloodlust are heavily based on the designs of Yoshitaka Amano. Specifically, the fashion that the characters wear, for example D's iconic hat comes from Amano's illustrations. But, I digress.
