I just won the auction on buyee but I didn't think about what I was doing wile I have a library with a VHS converter, It probably wont work on Japanese VHS's so if anyone knows how to convert Japanese VHS's I'll send it your way.

I was going to reply to your previous thread about this topic, I think it was unnecessary to create a whole new thread... It's good to have patience. Good to know that you found and bought one of the tapes, congrats.

Anyway, I hope to help find out more about Little Twins, I'm intrigued by the art style and would like to help translate from Japanese to English when I have time, I also know how to subtitle things. Many of the scans that I've seen online of the VHS tapes have "for rental only" on them so I wonder if that's another reason why the episodes are so rare. For the storybooks, they appear to be out of print so that could be the main reason why they're rare, also people aren't selling them very often at least not oline/overseas. I wish I could check a Japanese used bookstore but I'm currently in the USA. I'll keep searching online.

So you did find some Japanese episodes? I found what apears to be a direct to VHS movie. Is that already online somewhere? I would also like to help with translating.

I haven't found any Japanese episodes online, I was referring to the scans of VHS tape cases, quite a few images come up on duckduckgo. Here are some of the other things I've found so far while looking into this:

According to the Japanese Little Twins wikipedia page there were 6 VHS tapes released each contained 2 episodes each. Apparently the first 7 episodes that were shown on TV are edited to fit the alloted time slot from the OVA (Original Video Animation. Refering to them as "Direct to Video" is fine too, though some of these old OVAs were released on LaserDisc too.)

Found a video of the opening and ending themes, the music and animation is so sweet and relaxing. It's interesting that the logo says 『リトルツインズ』Little Faires:

The ANN page lists Sanrio as one of the companies that helped with production but it also has a red error note next to it, though it claims the source is from the Japanese wikipedia page I didn't see Sanrio mentioned on there (perhaps I missed it?) Besides, the Little Twin Stars characters have different names that the Little Twins Little Fairies characters and the setting is totally different, so it's probably a coincidence.

The VHS tape that you bought is the 7th episode that was shown on TV in Japan (according to the Japanese wikipedia page Ep.7's story is derived from the movie ver. while the other episodes are derived from the OVA), it's called 「ぼくらの夏が飛んでいく」 "Our Flying Summer" or "Our Summer Flies By". You mention that you're going to translate, have you studied Japanese? Relying on online translation sites can give very inaccurate results, so if you ever want someone to proof-read your Japanese to English translations I can double check them.

Yeah, I really like the original Japanese opening theme, even if it’s not the English one I grew up with. Have you heard the theme in the Arabic dub, though? It’s very strange. (If you go watch it you might want to turn your headphones down, it’s very noisy.) Heck, the Arabic dub itself is strange. For example, the male twin (named “Gigi” in this dub) is doesn’t sound remotely like a kid. And a lot of scenes are lacking music which combined with some of the strange voices makes it very odd to watch.
