In this order on the video, the first one had must've had English dialogue recorded first. (Jim Cummings, Michael Gough, Robbie Rist, Kevin Michael Richardson, Debi Derryberry, Sherry Lynn, Cam Clarke) This used digital ink and paint. Animation studio: Animation Workshop Basara
The second one was done with Japanese dialogue recorded first, and animation provided by OLM, known for being associated with Pokemon, and entirely on hand-painted cels.
I'm very intrigued to know where you found info that their must've been English dialogue recorded first.
Wow, that’s interesting, I’ve never heard of Parque Espana. A spanish themed amusement park in Iseshima, Mie prefecture… Wow. This makes me want to check it out someday. It looks so much fun. Some guy’s travelogue of the park (English): ( www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9MNE4XNd_U ) And here’s one of the performances with the characters from the animation in the park in December2020.: ( www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhNZBzrU5QU )
None of the videos that I’ve watched about this park show where this animation would be shown (I’m assuming before the ride called “Don Quixote's Magical Flight” but no other videos show it) but the characters are everywhere in the park.
Perhaps the art style is less coincidental than I thought. Apparently Disney has tried several times over the years to make a movie about Don Quixote but they’ve always ended up getting canceled.
The story of Don Quixote is in the public domain, like most of the stories that Disney makes adaptations of. I wonder if these characters really were animated by Japanese animators that also worked on Disneytoon Studio projects. Perhaps they pitched these designs and the animation to Disney but it wasn’t accepted. So instead of just scrapping the project they decided to use it for this Japanese theme park idea. It seems these characters became popular enough that the present day park is basically centered around these characters.
The main question I still have is if the people that worked on this animation also worked on Toondisney shows and if this animation was ever pitched to Disney, or got an English dub. I’ll try to get in contact with the uploader and see if he’s interested in digitizing this exclusive animation. I can translate and add English subtitles to it if anyone else is interested.
I was doing a cursory search for 『ダックにおまかせ ダークウィング・ダック』 or the Darkwing Duck Japanese dub, and found this somewhat recent (December 23, 2020) upload on youtube. ( www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zb5AMk-yyN8 ) It’s called パルケ・エスパーニャ or Paruke Esupanya and seems to have something to do with the story of Don Quixote. At first the animation reminded me of the gummy bears but as I watched it and tried hear the audio (it’s definitely a camera recording) the dialogue and characters made me realize it wasn’t gummy bears or anything I recall seeing on the Disney Channel when I was a kid, but it certainly has that same animation style. In the description of the video the uploader’s wording caught my eye: 「志摩スペイン村のオリジナルアニメ このアニメが観られるのはテーマパーク内と 観光特急しまかぜの個室及び食堂車しか 観られません。」 “You can only watch this original animation in the tourist limited/exclusive express dining car.”
The credits in the video don’t mention Disney but the animation looks so similar to something Disneytoon studios would have worked on. I’ve downloaded this video and plan to upload it the archive.org (tomorrow) because this could certainly be taken down by Disney or someone else (youtube). The cast list according the uploader 名伊甲特急 His username is a bit difficult for me to translate but I think it’s supposed to be something like “Great helmet of litmited express.”
Does anyone else recognize this? Did this have an English dub originally? If anyone here is a more experienced translator or a native Japanese speaker, please let me know if my translations are incorrect.
I remember Totally Spies airing on ABCfamily/fox family and then it was shown on Cartoon Network. Martin Mystery also aired on Cartoon Network in the USA, both MM and TS are animated by the same French studio. I don't recall it was ever being on Nickelodeon in the USA. In regards to the crossover episode, I'm not sure if that was shown in the USA or not. I'm pretty sure the Totally Spies Movie was never shown on TV here either.
As a fellow rhythm game fan I hope we can find more information about this game. This might be a helpful database to use: arcadechirashi-db.net/ I'll continue to searching as well, best of luck.
Hopefully, with enough information on the show, this can be moved to the lost media section. If not, then I'd appreciate any explanation from the admins (Lucy and maybe even dycaite ), for future guidance on the definition of the term "lesser known media".
I was wondering why this thread is in "lesser known media" since this was on the disney channel I'd think more people would be interested in helping search. I've been following this thread for quite a while now and doing a few searches on my own but to no avail. I haven't found anything new, but I really do think that with more eyes on this thread/topic and more people searching all of the episodes of Ring of Fire will be found one day. Best of luck to everyone, I'll continue searching too.
Having to pay to watch a fansub sounds like a scam to me. Or at the very least it's seedy because the majority of fansub & fan-translation groups make it very clear that their fansubs are not meant to be sold.
I plan to translate and subtitle this forgotten drama that never got an official release because of the tragic passing of 18 year old lead actress and idol; Yukiko Okada. I'll post updates. ユッコちゃん、岡田 有希子と佐藤 佳代安らかにお眠りください。kart67220さんありがとうございます。archive.org/details/41_20210109
lostmedia1234 Did you really need to make three threads for this? As I said in your original thread,I'm pretty sure the show you're looking for is コアラボーイコッキィ or as it was adapted to be in English: Adventures of the Little Koala.
I'm by no means a pro-level translator yet, but I'd like to do what I can to help with this search. After a cursory search via Japanese "ルーンファクトリー 外伝携帯電話ゲーム" I found these sites that have more info and screenshots:
I was always interested in getting into Bella Sara because the illustrations and world-building looked fantastic. After doing some searching on the fandom wiki sections about the website the only page I can find about the online story books is “Bella’s Storybook.” This fandom wiki looks pretty well maintained, and there still seems to be a fandom for Bella Sara, so it’s odd that there are no pages about the other online story books. I hope we can find them.
