So, looking around for old Anime vhs trailers, I managed to stumble on this guy. This YouTube page seems unassuming but that's probably the point. His channel is called Grey Archives, and there is a link in his community page to an archive he created of "rare and dead media" that had otherwise been forgotten, or was unavailable on YouTube. Some of it seems to be things like commercial archives and bumpers, too. It's over a hundred videos, so I couldn't glean through them all, but if memory serves some may even have been old music videos or MTV recordings. This may be very useful, and it may do us a favor to try and contact the guy since he seems interested in media preservation too.
Here's a link to his YT page where he posts about his archive collection: link
I saw the version of Danny Gonzalezes' video on the worst IPhone games with the BetterHelp sponsor that got removed for obvious reasons. I also think I saw the original cut of his review of Love On A Leash that had a long awkward "no media" thing where the sponsor should be. I regret nothing.
There's also stuff like Saberspark's videos on Ronal The Barbarian and Once Upon A Girl, I also remember quite enjoying Comsodore's content until... you know.
"You know" what? Who's Cosmodrome? What happened? I never heard of this guy before.
Edit: actually for that matter what is that other stuff, are they webshows? "No regrets" what was it "NSFL"/"NSFW" or something?

I've seen a shocking amount of shows that are now either fully or partially lost, with some that immediately come to mind being Eureka's Castle, Big Bag, Maya the Bee, Lil' Bits, Channel Umtee-3 Space Cats, the Noozles and the Little Koala. Also Toon Heads, Balloonatiks, Samurai Pizza Cats, Hammerman, Chip and Pepper's Cartoon Madness, all of which I had no idea even WERE lost until a year or two ago when I saw them here. I honestly think I'm some kind of eldritch being that consumes memories, which I why I should watch as many episodes as South Park as possible to hopefully erase it entirely.
I'm not sure if I might be misremembering this, but I remember a show about 5 or so Penguins that was a 3D animated show, I rented a few DVDs when I was little, they were from a Hollywood video store that has since been shut down many years ago, I don't remember the show itself tho, I know the Penguins could talk normally, and I remember one where one of them was stuck in a clam, and I think show was I think widescreen maybe I don't know, If anyone can send me a video of it or a clip from I would be so happy.
Can't blame you, no one else ever brought up this topic here or anywhere else
I don't know if it's from the comics or not, but I'm virtually certain I know of this CVO thing...but then again it sounds so much like JBVO that I honestly mistook the title of the thread for that when I saw it. I doubt it was the game. From what I can discern it was almost certainly canceled, but how far along it was before it was cancelled is the question. It sounds to me like the "sequels" and million-dollar contest from Advent Rising and the "media empire" that Drake and the 99 Dragons was supposed to give birth to (both ironically by Majesco) in that the creators were counting their chickens before the hen laid eggs. This sounds similar to the Disney animated project Dreamfinders, where the series was announced based on a pre-existing product (I believe an attraction at Disney World?) and advertisements were made before the actual show was in production, so it basically was animated vaporware. The comic never progressed past a set point either so I seriously doubt the game or rather the idea of making one did either.
I'm not even sure if concept art exists, because I keep going back to Dreamfinders, where basically all that ever existed for the stillborn series was a single picture from an advertisement. I also keep going back, in concept, to the Drake of the 99 Dragons debacle where they had massive plans for some kind of extensive series, essentially a vanity project set up by the game's writer, but since the game itself was literally unplayable and solid like do-it-yourself cancer it never went anywhere and I get the impression the same happened here. Like I said, I think I remember some very vague mentions of something called CVO, but I barely can remember IDW and I've been reading comics since I was four. If memory serves IDW were the guys that Pat Lee and his cohorts worked with to make the Transformers comics. Don't quote me on that. But if it is, then it would explain why the game was never made since I believe Pat Lee (a fairly well known figure in comics, for good or ill) caused his studio DreamWave, which may have been a sub-caste of IDW, to implode because of a complex series of events that deserve their own movie.
TLDR, I'm virtually certain this game was canceled and it's possible that beyond that ad, nothing exists.

Considering the things that keep popping up are Pintrest, Plex and Roku I can only assume it's either promo art for some version that was never fully produced, "The Mall" seems.

I'm asking for a friend who says he has been looking for this for years, apparently since they were n the 4th grade. Here's the exact quote:
"It was a movie, probably direct to DVD but it may have had a theatrical release, I’m bad at keeping track of these things. I first saw it in class, (4th or 5th grade so this would be between 2009-2011) just something our teacher put on because it was probably close to a holiday or something. The whole film had a sorta low budget live action kids film bridge to terabithia vibe. The kind of thing you’d see played Cartoon Network. It centered in these two kids, a brother and sister if I recall. Maybe they were just friends or something but I know it was a boy and a girl. The whole beginning and middle are a blur to me but I remember them being lost in some sort of pocket dimension middle hook building. Basically there trapped in this weird alternate reality zone, under the control of this monster thing. The monster appeared to be this sort of large black mass. Even as a kid o remember thinking the CGI was kinda weak, but it was this large goopy black mass with huge tendrils. Think the flood from halo but smooth and black. At some point it either creates or somehow possesses a small young boy. The protagonists communicate with the monster by using this boy as a sort of middleman. Again a lot of the plot details are blurry but I remember this being one of the first films I saw with a fakeout ending. Essentially the kids think they’ve escaped from the monster and are back home. Their mom is making dinner and everything seems idillic and fine. Except the kids slowly realize that something is off, and eventually figure out that they’re still trapped and the monster yanks them out of this false reality. I don’t remember what happens after that or how the movie ends. The last scene I can recall clearly is the two kids in this big like… liminal space indoor swimming center type area. Basically a big room covered in ceramic tile. They’re talking to the monster and one of them says something to the effect of “is this your brain”. That could be a totally misremembered quote, as this was like 10 years ago, and my memory has never been great. Anyway this movie really left an impact on me as I still remember it all these years later. Please help me end this search!"
Anyways back on topic for unpopular opinions-I consider submitting articles to the wiki a complete waste of time and effort because of how often they get deleted for seemingly no reason at all. I did it a handful of times before I decided it wasn't worth the trouble and i've seen a few others on here have the same complaints.
I know how that feels.
I don't know if adding articles is pointless, but I do know there seems to be some kind of mass skimming of articles. I mentioned this in another threads but I am literally CERTAIN that I saw an article about a lost movie which I genuinely Can! Not! Find! on the entire site, and my only conclusion is that it's been deleted. And yes, seemingly for no discernible reason. Considering I've seen people on the forum, people I assume have some degree of power based on having like "VIP" under their names on occasion, who seem literally terrified of "spam" articles, my only conclusion is that one or more people in charge is conducting some near-total erasure of articles to...I have no idea, to facilitate some personal view of what is or isn't "spam?"
Which is beyond meta, since lost media about lost media is now a thing.

There is no real definition for "NSFL"/"NSFW" beyond broad generalities, most if not all varying wildly between individuals. I can tell you there are people who would think HIM is "NSFW"/"NSFL," people I know. But the same people market in fan translated Boys Love manga (google it) and see no contradiction. Neither one bothers me, honestly. Now I have no power over site rules (obviously, since if I did the site mascot would be a frisky fox girl) but it's all based on the personal beliefs of individual people. Which goes back around to how there is no actual definition for "NSFL"/"NSFW" as it's a broad generality.
As for who does and doesn't try to preserve the information, there is no morality or immorality there either. Nothing is more or less "sick" and no one, especially on the internet, can throw stones because even the entire clearnet is a gigantic glass black hole. Most network tv is...just watch an episode of Maury...
Completely unrelated, prowling YouTube for more videos about rare or obscure material should be more of a priority than just being on the hunt for anything in particular, because it allows for wider audiences to see the information. A lot of what people know about The Most Mysterious Song On The Internet came from the fact that Paul Baskerville, who has been involved with the search for the song for almost as long as everyone else, replayed it on his station and the original guy who posted the "what the fuck is this?" upload heard it by chance.
So showing someone video of rare materials on a wider scale, even if it seems more like an urban legend, could by pure chance find information. I'd almost suggest some kind of specific YouTube channel that shows specific updates and links to other people like LSuperSonicQ, Nexpo, All Things Lost, Blameitonjorge, Down The Rabbit Hole, Whang!, to get the word around.
Quit it, both of you. Insulting each other won't help the situation in the slightest.
Moving on...
Cool.
So, I know this came up in the Owen Hart thread, but I do think that so-called "NSFL" things need to be found and properly preserved, putting some kind of upper limit on things strikes me frankly kind of missing the point of preserving media and yes knowledge for as long as possible. I mean, everyone and their father has seen the Kennedy assassination film, it's been broadcast live on tv numerous times, and it shows far, FAR more gruesome stuff. Like a man's head exploding. And I've never seen it edited or censored in my life. If a literal real time video of a guy on a grassy knoll Lee Harvey Oswald blasting open a man's head never gets censored or listed as "NSFL" (to be frank I don't even recall any kind of warning for content or whatever being shown when it's broadcast) then something infinitely less bloody like a guy falling several stories and suffering, from what I understand, purely internal injuries shouldn't be either. The video of...the newswoman whose name I can't properly spell, so I won't insult her trying...killing herself really falls under the same aegis as the JFK video. Again, there have been shows, including a live documentary thing I recall from Fox back in the 90s, where they showed JFK's head caving in MULTIPLE TIMES including a "remastered" version to emphasize it. Soooo...what's the difference?
It's disturbing, obviously. I don't think anyone would argue otherwise. But it's information and needs to be properly preserved. Also this kind of came up in the aforementioned Owen Hart thread and I was going to mention it there but I had an internet hiccup, but yes that kind of, for lack of a better term, "exciting" or out there stuff does tend to attract more people who would normally be outside of the "sphere" as it were, who stumble on that kind of stuff while prowling the internet. There is a very good chance they'll probably fall down the rabbit hole and we can get more eyes on things that are far less insane.
People discover the concept of information and media preservation in odd ways. I literally accidentally found out lost media existed because I saw a video about Yeah Yeah Beebiss I and fell into a rabbit wormhole I've been crumbling into ever since, so it's more likely than unlikely the same will happen if someone stumbles into a thread about it after watching a Wrestling With Wregret video.

Now, if someone wants to ban me, go for it. But I've never actively threatened or insulted anyone because they disappeared with my opinions or made accusations about other people OR turned threads in on themselves like black holes. So if I get kicked out for telling off this dude, what ever, but someone has to do something.
Something needs to be done because this is becoming a weekly event.

Okay here's an popular opinion: there comes a point when trying to, I don't know, "contain hate speech" or whatever the Hell you think you're doing is slowly eroding people's right to speak. You are not God, you are not anyone, you are some helium voice 12 year old on the internet screaming at people and sniping at them from a distance.
No one has to listen to you, no one has to care about you, no one has to respect you. The same thing is true about me, but the difference is that I don't actively go after people and act like some kind of idiotic attack dog whenever someone says something that I don't like. You are not important, you are some guy on the internet (and I'm using term guy loosely, cuz I think little boy is a more accurate term) with a God complex okay, so how about this...I'll tell you to shut the Hell up and you take my advice and do it.
There, there's a very popular opinion it seems.
This is literally by the way the second thread...I'm sorry I think third...that you completely derailed with your nonsense. No one here is afraid of you, no one here cares. I barely care because you actually came after me with some kind of inane racist crap, calling me Larry elder as if that's some sort of insult (spoiler warning it's not) and the only reason anyone else ever even noticed you is because you seem to be stalking other people and constantly dismantling threads. All you're doing is being antagonistic and authoritarian, for no reason at all, you don't hold power over anyone or anything and even if you did I still wouldn't give a damn what you think.
So allow me to repeat myself, in case you missed it over your arrogant self entitled screeching, you're not God, I repeat, YOU ARE NOT GOD. You're some teenager on the internet who likes to snipe at people at distance cuz you know that no one can ever confront you in real life.

So, scouring the net for possible unknown or lost media, I came upon a post from someone detailing a...strangely familiar sounding anime, which seems so on point I can almost recall it myself. But then I dive into 9Anime on a regular basis, so I may have stumbled across it.
The guy said this, exact quote:
"I’m looking for an anime where in the future, a Scientist creates a unlimited energy source that runs off the earths electromagnetic field. With this same technology he makes an super intelligent sentient android which calls him her father. At the beginning of the anime the scientist is raided by some overarching government types. He then proceeds to detonate the tech in his lab by overloading it, with him still inside. His “daughter” sits by helplessly watching him commit suicide. That’s all I can remember. Please help."
I sent him a PM to see if he recalls the year, and if so I'll update. It sounds almost like Ariel? Or perhaps De:Vadasy?
