I think Clutch Cargo was aiming for being ultra cheap on purpose.
Not really, American animated shows from the 50s, 60s & 70s were on tight budgets, so they tried to cut corners anyway they can.
Yes, that was related to what I said. They had to produce a lot of episodes for a season. Some ran a new episode daily (M-F) and they were short on time. So cheap and easy was the best way to go for some of them. The Looney Tune cartoons did not face this issue since they came out on theatres before a movie.
A furry with eclectic tastes who loves the 80s and 90s. Mostly 1984-1992.
I can't say that I hate the show, but I've never been into Tom and Jerry, as a kid or now. The fact that it's still so mega popular all around the world, like I get it, but then I also don't get it???
I like Tom and Jerry, but only the 40s and 50s versions. Anything after that I don't really care for.
I like the Chuck Jones Tom and Jerry shorts as I grew up watching them. Not so much the Gene Deitch stuff though(aside from that one short set in the wild west which was actually based off a cancelled Sylvester and Speedy Looney Tunes short, something which becomes obvious upon seeing it).
This is related to another answer I posted here, but I seriously don't like U.S. cartoons from the 60s with their limited animation in the likes of "Rocky & Bullwinkle" or "Underdog." I'm not at all saying that I think they're bad, but I'm just not fond of the animation. Animation from the 40s and 50s look way better! Probably the only exception are the Pink Panther cartoons. I still like those.
I can see why. Animation THAT limited can be very distracting at times. At least with Rocky And Bullwinkle & some of Hanna-Barbera's cartoons, they made up for it in the comedy aspects with clever dialogue. Filmation on the other hand... hoo boy, they're a doozy.
Sad part with Filmation is their later stuff actually looked pretty decent, Bravestarr was their best looking TV show by far and their theatrical movies looked better then expected. It's a shame they never really got a chance to continue improving.

The whole cat-and-mouse dynamic just didn’t appeal to me, and I often found myself getting bored after just a few minutes of watching.I get that it’s a classic and many people have fond memories of it, but I always preferred cartoons with a bit more storyline and character development. Shows like Scooby-Doo or Looney Tunes had more variety and interesting plots in my opinion. Anyone else feel the same way or am I alone on this one?

I enjoyed all of those shows but you definitely are not the only person to not like Tom and Jerry. There's one classic cartoon guy(whose name I can't recall right now) in similar circles as Thad Komorowski who has posted about his hatred for T&J for many years now.

Agree, I never liked Tom and Jerry. It always felt like filler content on Cartoon Network.
I never found it funny and the gags were just way too repetitive.

I guess it's worth noting that Chuck Jones didn't like Tom and Jerry & that the Road Runner shorts were meant as a mockery of T&J alongside various other "chase" cartoons, which explains why the Road Runner is so evil in those shorts.

Maybe my brain was already ruined by watching the Simpsons as a young child. I definitely saw Itchy and Scratchy before I saw Tom and Jerry.

Thing is, The Itchy & Scratchy Show was supposed to be a parody of Herman and Katnip, a Tom and Jerry ripoff that was notable for being far more violent than T&J ever was.

Honestly Discord. You cannot get me to use Discord no matter how hard you try. I will not let myself be controlled by Discord freaks & be constantly sent a whole bunch of hateful private messages on there from a bunch of randos on there considering how much more popular that site is. I get the concept of "servers" but the Discord format just feels so awkward and disjointed compared to other social media. I have had a lot of trouble adding people in the past and being added too. And the notification system is pretty wonky, I joke that it lets me know when things happen about 50% of the time.
I guess on the topic of social media, I never bothered with Vine, Music.cally, or TikTok. The best ones would be reuploaded to Youtube anyway, so I didn't care. Even Insta reels, I can handle for maybe 10 minutes max, before I get "burned out."
For the most part, I have trouble getting into the latest and greatest new social media sites/apps anyway. I have considered doing Twitter X again because it is still so much more active than other social media sites (and sadly, a fair number of my fave Youtubers ONLY use Twitter X), but it feels like such an embarrassing dumpster fire now, and I also didn't care about any of its shiny new competitors-Hive Social, Mastodon, Blue Sky, etc. All of those feel pretty gimmicky.

People on there are too private or too open lol I use it but a good chunk of my close friends only use it, the rest have other ways of getting ahold of me
