Apologies for the bump, but it's likely the cartoon is actually "The Fresh Vegetable Mystery", which features a potato cop. Thing is, it's in color, but it was also featured on a lot of cheaply-made cartoon tapes. It's very possible that one of them used a black & white print. www.youtube.com/watch?v=bo6s1JWtJyw
I appreciate you looking but it's already been found. Thanks anyway:) i will look up the Fresh Vegetable Mystery though cause it does sound oddly familiar.
I used to have a book as a kid that is now very rare called 'The Rabbit And The Tiger; Adapted From a Puerto Rico Folktale' I was able to track that book down and not everything I remembered was in there.
I swear there is a book out there somewhere where a Rabbit tricks his friends into chasing the moon's reflection or something like that upriver, he then hides behind a bush and laughs as they do. In the end, they play a trick on him using the reflection to make it look like there's a giant carrot in the water. So he jumps in and gets wet. Releasing he'd gotten what he deserved.
I could have sworn this was all part of Rabbit And The Tiger, in which a clever Rabbit tricks a hungry Tiger multiple times to get away. In one instance he even makes the Tiger think that the moon is cheese. But how could I remember those other scenes so vividly, only for them to not be there at all? I think Somewhere out there, there's an even rarer book with a strangely drawn rabbit who tricks his friends.
So someone found a release on Discogs. It's a single named "C.I.A./Gimmie Some Love" by a band known as The Reform.
There is no info about it, not even a year, however, it is just a few seconds shy of our mysterious song and it's labeled rock. They were able to order a copy of it however, so now it's just a waiting game to see.
I’m really hoping this could be it, it’s always satisfying solving obscure lostwave songs.
Someone on discogs claims to have it and said it isn't it... however, they don't appear to have any listings at all in their collection nor does anyone currently have that release listed. So idk...

I'll have to ask my brother. I am pretty sure he played a mobile game called Run. Though I thought it was a multiplayer game. Maybe I'm getting it mixed up with another game.
Ask your brother what he remembers about this game. Let’s see if he’s thinking about the same game I am.
Unfortunately, he doesn't remember it. The game I was thinking of was called Fun Run lol. But i still swear he played a game just called Run. The reason being is he tried to make a game with Gamemaker that he called Run and I bugged him about it by reminding him of a game he already played with the same name.
I remember a mobile game called Run. Did you play against other people?
No, it was just like a infinite runner like Subway Surfers. Did you remember the game you played like me?

Update: Finally heard "I'll Fly From Home" by The Missing Link. Yet another song to rule out...
Further Updates: Using the tags Rock, New Wave, and Canada I searched through every release on discogs from the years 1985 and 1984. This time, going by length instead of song title. It was quite the task. I still did not find it. So it either is
A: not on discogs,
B: Is one of the few similar length songs I couldn't listen to,
or C: Is not from 1984/1985/Canada.

So Holy Road by Daba Rojaba can be ruled out. I got into contact with Jamie Oakes and he does not know the mystery song.
However, he did confirm it sounds like a Canadian production. I think that confirms that it is seeing as how he is a local Ontatio artist. If anyone would know, it's him.
I asked if he would spread the word to other local musicians he might know from the area. So hopefully something will come from this still.
"Future Coming Home" By Aislefive. A US-based artist who released an LP in 1984 named "Cause a Mystery".
I also discovered some songs by the band Garden Bower and it doesn't really sound like the same band. However, I could not find the song in question in the list so still might keep it in the list of possible ones.
On a side note someone in the YouTube comments on one of the uploads of the song suggested "Holy Road" by Daba Rojaba. Which was an obscure New Wave band from Ontario who won a battle of the bands contest. The song is even the same length as the C.I.A. song. The problem is it comes from a 1988 compilation album. However, upon further research, the band did exist prior to that so it is possible the song was around before that album. The lead singer of "Holy Road" is Jamie Oakes, Who did a live interview with an Ontario charity service that was posted to Facebook in 2021. I contacted the charity service and gave them my email. They said they would forward my request about the song to Jamie Oakes for me. I'm not sure why the song would be named Holy Road but it is the same genre, it is Canadian, Local from Ontario, there is potential it could have been around in '85, and it is the same length as the song so I guess we will see.

there's also the Smarty Arty segment from the show "ZZZap!". I believe he had puppets as well. That is older though, 90s and 2000s. Also aired on It's Itsy Bitsy Time.

A user by the name of MFJazzyCat got back to me about "Comin' Back Home" by Michael C. Kirch. He doesn't think it's the same song as this song was apparently only shared around the Delaware area. But he is going to send me a copy regardless if he can dig up his old copy.
