1) Gulp in Planet Earth This was a cartoon about a little alien called Gulp. He lived in a very small planet, and every day he would play with a ball. The planet was so tiny that sometimes his ball fell into our planet, Earth. There, he would meet new friends and would live adventures with them. It aired in Brazil in the 90's, but i can't find the original name of it on the internet. It aparrently came from Germany, as seen on the credits. EDIT: Its original name is Der Gulp, it was made in 1973 and its indeed from Germany. All the episodes are stored in archives of German TV stations. There is also one episode in possession of a Austrian museum.
2) Lobo This one looks like it doesn't exist. It was a swiss cartoon about a dog with big ears (probably his name is Lobo) and his owner, a miner. While his owner was working in the mines, Lobo would discover a lot of things and face new challenges. It aired in the same show as the first one, in the same period of time, and it probably came from Switzerland. EDIT: Its original name really is "Lobo". It comes from Switzerland and was directed by Luciano Berini, screenplay by Bianca Pitzorno.
I hope you guys can help me searching for these cartoons, thanks.
Gulp has a German Wikipedia page; it's just called "Der Gulp", which is also the name of a few unrelated things, so it's not an easy find. Unfortunately, it's a short article with a lot of filler and very little concrete information. One episode is mentioned to be archived by an Austrian museum (so the cartoon might be from Austria in the first place), but no info on what happened to the rest.
"Der Gulp is a bedtime story in cartoon form for pre- and primary school children, from the year 1973.
Children's books from the 1960s often deal with the topics of space, rockets or the moon landing. This 'space craze' was caused by the first attempts by the Soviets to advance into space with unmanned rockets, starting in 1957.
The idea for this children's fairy tale stems from this time period. 'Der Gulp' is a boy who lives on a very small planet, where he is always playing with a ball. When it falls down, it lands on Earth. There, Gulp soon makes friends and has all sorts of adventures.
A single episode, Episode 7 from 10. June 1973, is in possession of the Österreichisches Werbemuseum (Austrian advertising museum). In it, Gulp plays with his friend from Earth, who is hit on the head with a flower pot, and they must go to the hospital. In the meantime, Gulp has an idea to crawl inside the X-ray machine. While his Earth friend is being treated, another doctor notices the peculiar inner workings of the alien boy and wants to keep Gulp; however, he can escape together with his Earth friend and fly back to his small planet."
Hi others anymore obscare cartoons with animals can you tell me the names of a lot of them the ones from different countries or something like that another cartoon that I know of The Adventures of Marco & Gina it was an Italian cartoon ran from 2003 to 2004 I think the Original Italian version I believe is lost there was an English dub but you can't find that one either you can only find the other dubs I think definitely the Portuguese dub and I think the show had a pilot it back in 1997 you can't really find it
Oh god, that's it! You found Gulp! Thank you very much! Also, is there any way to watch that episode in the museum? It would be cool to watch another episode of it.
Hmm, it seems this museum is a very small and privately-owned one in Vienna. They have a website but it's not very professional, and I couldn't find much of anything there. There's a Facebook page as well.
I'm frankly not quite sure what they're doing with this cartoon episode, as the museum seems focused largely on print advertising material. It seems the info was added to Wiki by an anonymous IP in early 2007 (written in a strong Austrian dialect, so possibly a Vienna local); the edit reason claims it exists on a DVD, but all the info is unsourced, and finding any more about it seems fairly impossible. This is a real obscure one.
I know it's been a really long this since i posted this thread but i discovered additional information about "Der Gulp":
The cartoon is also known as "Gulp Will Wissen" (Gulp Wants to Know), had a total of 52 episodes produced from 1970 to 1973 and was actually produced in Germany by the Bavaria Film GmbH. In a french website i found it is mentioned that it was created by a writer called Christa-Maria Bandmann, but it is speculated that the cartoon was actually created by the Slovenian cartoonist Nikolaj Miki Muster, that worked on Bavaria Film during the 70's but was never credited in his works there.
I eventually contacted an austrian collector and he anwsered me this:
"Wenn Sie eine Möglichkeit haben, den zu brennen, suche ich den gerne heraus.
Gegenleistung: eine Packung Kaffee bitte.
Liebe Grüße"
I tried translating it but i didn't quite understand it, so if anyone here speaks German please tell me what this should mean. In the french website i mentioned earlier i found some screenshots of two previously unknown episodes. Check'em out:
Yeah, that was it. As for Lobo i still haven't found anything new.
