For one, the THX logo. I know, it's been done to death, but that thing used to scare the ever-loving crap out of me when I was a small child. π Especially the Tex variants (the ones with the little robot). I've started to become interested in logos and graphic design over the last few years, and now I LOVE the THX trailers! My favorite is the Cavalcade variant. I first saw it on my DVD copy of The Incredibles, and I think that trailer sparked my making peace with THX.
Another one is a little weirder, and quite frankly I can't explain it: nightmare sequences in movies and TV shows. THIS IS STILL A CURRENT ISSUE I HAVE! It is NOT simply relegated to childhood trauma! They still bother me! There are two examples that stick out the most for me.
One is the nightmare Mater has in Cars 2. (I know, I know. "Eww, gross." But I LOVED that movie as a kid, and I got to admit, I still like it. It fueled my never-fully-passing spy phase lol) That scene scared the pants off of me as a kid. I still prefer not to watch it. I can, but I'm very uncomfortable the whole time. If I ever rewatch Cars 2 by myself, I usually skip that scene.
The second one gave me trauma as recently as six years ago. I was a teenager.
Did anyone else have a How to Train Your Dragon phase?
Does anyone who had said HTTYD phase devour every new season of Dragons: Race to the Edge when it came out?
Does anyone remember the episode "Not Lout"?
The nightmare sequence in that episode MADE MY SKIN CRAWL and I do not fully understand why. (I would provide a link to the scene for y'all, but I can't find it on its own on YouTube.) I think it was how out of character the characters were. It haunted me. I'm serious, I had a mild panic reaction while watching it. I really don't understand why.
Have a blessed day! ~ππ ππππΆππΎππ
Honestly I can't think of any media that really scared me as a kid(hell I got to see the Mickey Mouse short "Runaway Brain" in theaters back in first grade and it didn't scare me one bit, I thought it was cool)never really had nightmares either that I can recall. I was more worried about real life stuff like automatic car washes(don't ask) and elevators(to this day I prefer to take the stairs if it's an option).
I forgot how frightening MAD was as a kid! I used to be petrified of the parody they did of Katy Perry's "Firework" that involved clay figures melting, specifically the end where a clay man's head melts off.
How about you? How will you live a life that faces death?

I have a bunch so I'll just list em
-FBI Warnings -Arty Smartypants from Between the Lions -The scene in the 2005 Charlie and the Chocolate Factory where the animatronics caught on fire -The trailer for Corpse Bride (which ended up becoming one of my favorite movies later on) -THX logo -Gremlins -The scene in ET where he's dying -James and the Giant Peach (the stop motion movie) -Gazerbeam's dead body in The Incredibles -The closeup of Wormy in Spongebob -The scary trees in Snow White -The Ghost of Christmas Present dying in the Jim Carey Christmas Carol movie -Happy Tree Friends -The Jeff the Killer image
Teletubbies, EAS alarms, the in memory of screen for Cyborgs body in that one Teen Titans Go! episode, the bones/skeleton song from Bubble Guppies, the Martin Lawrence opening theme with the 3d heads, the Empire commercial (800-588-2300 EMPIRE~), and for some reason the Disney Channel Original Logo (specifically the pale-ish stuff inside of the logo). Not that a good portion of these I was not scared of by 8/9 (with the exception being EAS Alarms).

I don't remember if I mentioned it, but Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction sticks out to me as a beloved childhood staple that also freaked me out much of the time. A lot of it now is so campy that it's hard to take seriously, but I'd be lying if some episodes didn't Pavlov me into being wary about going around my house at night.
-Face Raiders (I told all of my friends back when I had friends that they were evil and to never play it)
-Yo Gabba Gabba - Tiny Ugly Germs (still can't look at it to this day)
-Certain Webkinz or Sims glitches
I'll probably think of others
I was actually obsessed with the Tiny Ugly Germs and that topic in general the year that the "Clean" episode premiered (2009) because of the current events. I remember playing with surgical masks a year or 2 later.

If it wasn't for the Between the Lions episode of Defunctland, I would still have Arty Smartypants trauma-blocked from my memory. Oh, well.

As innocent as it is. I didn't like sitting through the Paramount Feature Presentation clip. Surprisingly, I wasn't the only one. I think it's because of the dead silence during the FBI message at the end. There is something errie about that.

I LOVED Happy Tree Friends... yet I was yelled at for and banned from Warriors
