I was 11 years old, browsing numerous Ed, Edd n Eddy wikis, forums, and sites. I was a huge fan of the show and still am to this day. I believe I did all of this around the release of the Big Picture Show film. I kept finding strange articles about a lost pilot for the show, the articles and claims kept repeating with consistent information. However, all traces of this lost pilot seemed to have vanished.
Allegedly, Ed, Edd n Eddy was originally pitched to Comedy Central in the mid-90's under the title "3 Dudes". I cannot recount all the information (last time I saw it was when I was 11) but what I do remember is that it was first pitched to Comedy Central as an animated semi-raunchy comedy series about the dreams and aspirations of the three dudes. The show was apparently more adult than the series we know today, but not filled with swears and sex jokes like what you'd see on Family Guy. Think more like early episodes of The Simpsons, with a "light" raunchy feel to it.
3 Dudes was, from what I've heard, very similar in tone with Ed, Edd n Eddy. The slapstick and silliness was there, but the entire cast and story was wildly different. 3 Dudes focused on three young-adults in their early twenties rather than kids in a cul-de-sac. The show's focus was about the three men each trying to achieve their dreams in life, and failing miserably. I only remember one of their names, which was Paris, who's dream was to become a swimsuit model.
Other than that, all I can remember is that apparently it counted as an Ed, Edd n Eddy episode, since it used to be linked on the wikia but has since vanished, and also aired only once around 1995 if I remember correctly. I hope to find closure on this soon. 3 Dudes must be found.
