Edwin Samuelson accounts the impossible journey of recovering this footage
It's believed that the original footage was willfully destroyed. No way around that. Except makeup artist Carl Fullerton had the foresight to keep a reel of the deleted footage for his portfolio (he was an up and coming artist, who has since made a name for himself in Hollywood). Not sure how it remained hidden for so long, but he has graciously handed the tape over to be digitized. Then came another shock where the tape was stuck together and unplayable. But after carefully being baked, it was finally properly restored. Like I said, it will never look good enough to be on par with the new 4K transfer of the film's original negative, but it exists now. After years of rumors and hoaxes, this is where the journey ends. This was a holy grail for horror fans, perhaps only trailing behind the lost footage from Part 3.

Holy shit. I got so excited to see this because the horror groups I'm in shared the news about Samuelson finding the tape. I'm not the biggest fan of Friday the 13th, but damn, I'm absolutely amped to see this and after Frankie Vinci finding the master copies to his contributions to the Sleepaway Camp soundtrack, this was the next major horror related thing I wanted to hear an update on.
Too bad the original Pamela head eyes opening ending wasn't on the tape. Someday though, someday.
I'm trying to follow up on an old lead where someone claimed to have the complete, uncensored film. I know hoaxes like this are a dime a dozen, but that poster was the very first person to claim that there was additional footage to Alice's death and specifically mentioned a front shot, exactly as was revealed. It's very, very strange that someone had this kind of information years before such a thing was even confirmed to exist. Usually people claim to have the deleted "decapitation ending" of Part 3, and they are most certainly full of it.
So I just researched on the lead you mentioned, www.campblood.com right?
A guy claims his friend bought F13 uncut in 1989, and another guy also claims to have seen it, with the front facing scene of Alice's death, if we do find this lost ending I want to be apart of finding it, since ever since I was young horror has had a place in my heart and finding the holy grail of lost horror media would probably complete my life.
Just a bit of searching, but to be more specific, it came from the friday the 13th amino, I personally don't use amino, but it came up when I searched "Friday the 13th part II original ending".
This website claims that some deleted footage was present in the Dutch version of the film. Not sure how true that is. But that image of Pamela could've been from a Fangoria article, too. When researching Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, I was able to find some images from a deleted scene in archived Fangoria magazines. Could be a possible lead.
