What is one thing you hate about lost media hunting?

Oh my god there are so many instances of that on reddit, and for some reason reddit always gives the person benefit of the doubt😂

I think that point one is spot on and point 3 is accurate, but I can see why people would disagree with point two 

Lost media should have to have some cultural value and lost media usually has that. Maybe something was too shocking for its time (Heil Honey I'm Home) or it was a little too indy (Mickey Mouse in Vietnam) or maybe it was grotesque (Heartbeat in the Brain) but it all had some cultural value, as does some pornographic features like Deepthroat, but in general, porn is just that, porn. It is not meant to add value to culture and therefore when it is lost, nothing of value is lost with it. What do we lose when some video of two adult actors (and/or actresses) are making the beast with two backs, and it has been done 1,000,000 times before. 
Also it is fairly well archived thanks to pornography historians (yes that is a real thing) the Museum of Sex in NYC had an exhibit on pornography through the ages, sponsored by a company with a black and yellow logo. 

1. Dead Ends: This is especially the case for stuff that not a lot of people are interested in, like Space Cats, RSD Game-Maker, the Bit Corp. Gamate, Yeah Yeah Beebiss 1, David Crane's motorcycle games, etc.
2. Very similar name to a BUNCH of other things: This is especially the case with generic titles like Space Cats, or Mad on the Commodore 64. It makes looking for it VERY frustrating sometimes.
3. Hoarders: They claim to have it, but are NOT willing to share it. That ain't preservation. That's just being greedy.
4. When people think it doesn't hold any significance: Anything can. Some things might have not been groundbreaking, but they do have some significance, like say, being part of someone's childhood, something they created back then that they want to find someday, or it's suspiciously unheard of, & you really want to find out whether, or not it really does exist. I want to find more RSD Game-Maker games. Why? Because a lot of people used it, sometimes around their childhood, or teenage years. It has its fans, & those fans would enjoy something like that. Plus, it'll let the people who created those games bring back childhood memories to themselves.

Oh, & that's not even mentioning those movies from the 80s, & 90s that were made by very few people with low budgets(like I'm talking THIS kind of stuff that not a lot of people know of). These tend to be some of the rarest movies out there that still survive since seemingly only one copy of these even exist. The SNIX one is kind of the only true example of this, but the rest... well, you know what I mean. Some of these tapes actually show some lost relics of real life that haven't been thought of by many people in YEARS. I bet you some fanmade Mario movie by some 10 year old possibly exists on some old tape from sometime in the 90s, & it hasn't been preserved anywhere on the internet.

Literally the bane of all of our collective existence...

The one thing that upsets me is the fact that no one cares about the lost media I care about. We've all been there, right? Although most of the indifference is justified with one exception IMHO.
