What is one thing you hate about lost media hunting?

Here are a few things I don't like about lost media hunting:
1. The search leading to an error screen (even in the Wayback Machine)
2. People not replying to/discontinuiting an incomplete search (Although, I do understand why that might happen, as some people might not be interested in a piece of lost media and would rather prefer to move on to a different topic or they just can't take it anymore)
3. Dead ends and unrelated results! Trust me, I've looked up many lost things and less well-known actors and they either lead to something unrelated or put me in a dead end.
4. Believing that a piece of lost media (like an assumed airing of a movie/TV show I like) exists somewhere, only to get tricked and learn that it was fake/doesn't exist and just made-up info from a vandal. I've learned it the hard way when I tried getting some help to find an assumed airing of "Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro" on NBC, only for the replies to tell me that it was a trick from a vandal, which saddened me (although, one of them did admit that it might've only aired on some NBC stations in syndication instead of the network itself), and told me that some info written on IMDB is fake.

One thing I hate is when something is posted on YouTube and everyone gets excited that it’s finally been found but then the copyright owners take it down and the video wasn’t archived

I don't get too worked up over that. In baseball if you can hit a home run 30% of the time, you have a hall of fame career. 

Ah so this example ("my uncle does this for a living and has a magical unexplained machine that can analyze what we have and give us the answers by the weekend") is basically the lost media equivalent of "My uncle works at Nintendo/Sega/Square Enix/Any other game dev company"

I hate it when something I'm looking for has a really generic name which makes googling next to impossible. It's a pain trying to find if an album I found by the band MK Ultra is lost when there are 50 bands with that name on Discogs.
