Okay so I read a bunch of random business articles and I'm kinda coming to one conclusion. Subway relied on online advertising. One article talks about how the WB Kids website would link to the Subway kids website, and another article talks about how the 4kids website would link to the Subway kids website.
Okay after using the wayback machine for the Cartoon Network website, and going through the dates for the Time Squad and Sheep promotions specified in the qsr articles, I'm actually going to say this theory is wrong.
Cartoon Network's website advertised Dairy Queen toys, mentioned the premiere of Time Squad which was sponsored by Burger King, and even has a section for a promotion they were doing with Kellogg's. Yet there is zero mention of Subway Kids, I didn't check for all of the toys dates, but that's weird right?? How in the heck did anyone know about these promos unless they just went to Subway regularly enough. It just seems like bad advertising at this point.
Cartoon Network may have never made commercials, but i think it exists.
I kinda assumed there would have been some form of advertising either a banner or a clickable image on their site, but I didn't find anything like that. I should look at other dates though.
I do of course think Subway was in charge of the commercials (excluding the Dexter contest because I guarantee it's a animated segment just like the others), but I just don't understand why the message boards don't bring up the commercials. I guess they didn't need to necessarily, since all they do is link Subway kids.
Hey I'm actually gonna make a YouTube video about this and already wrote out a script. I reference this and the Time Squad forum, but was wondering if I should block out names/icons? I generally see youtubers kinda just show members of the forums, but IDK I wanted to gauge what you peeps thought first. I'm only in the script phase, so this portion won't be done til I edit, and I imagine an edit won't be done til sometime next week.
No new info has been found since we last left off either. I guess if there is an update I will include itđź‘Ť

Personally I wouldn’t care. That’s exactly why I don’t use my real name or photos of myself on message boards.

Me too! I dont mind my username and icon being on the video, also, i go by She/Her pronouns!

Yaaay! I'm gonna record my audio today I think! This my first attempt at doing a video with a script so this will be a fun experience. If anything comes up while I'm editing, I'll add an addendum.
Nothing as of now. I'm pretty sure that Dexter Subway contest commercial can be located in the least, so that would be a good start.
That’s a shame.
I hope we can find the Dexter one soon though.
A lot of Dexter's Lab commercials are already floating around on YouTube, I'm pretty confident the Subway one is nestled in there somewhere. Especially because a majority of those commercials were contests with other brands.
Another thing that I can't remember if we touched on in this thread or not, is the Dexter's Lab DVD set that was one of the prizes for the contest. I'm pretty this would have been Dexter's Lab first DVD release, and I don't know if this boxset exists outside of this contest. This was during a time where DVDs were not common, and before the revival seasons of the show.
hey i actually was a part of editing that article just like my article on the ohga shrugs wiki for the klonoa series and my work on adding undertale and other newer rareware/nintendo games to the ohga shrugs wiki
i added the hannah montana and naked brothers band section to the article as part of my research as hannah montana was a controversial subway toy back in the 2000s
you can see how controversial that toy was in this archive of ampharossman64/cybertoad707s video on the topic www.youtube.com/watch?v=qcdJUQz6Ono
other than that im canadian and not a 90s kid so i dont remember these commercials
i do remember a toy i had from harveys that was based on fosters home for imaginary friends it was a playdoh like toy that was from 2004ish

Update on the Sheep in the Big City Promotional Game. While I was going through eBay, I stumble across an unopened toy and there it was: An insert promoting the game that is still intact. In addition, I found 2 of the Justice League toys: Unfortunately, still no commercials found.

Hey this is really cool to see! I'm still very curious about the Sheep game.
We're pretty sure at this point it's only a Dexter's Lab commercial.
