That we know of. The only argument I can really make for their possible existence is that the PPG commercial is never brought up either, but it's a weak argument.
Them deciding to just do a PPG one makes sense because we know just how much of a powerhouse the PPG were back in their day, of course they would spend money advertising that. The only thing I really should do now is comb the Cartoon Network site on the wayback machine and see if I can find a banner for Subway kids or something. It would confirm my theory they relied on online advertising.

There is a possibility that there was a commercial for the Dexter’s Lab promotion in 1999. My friend claims to have seen it. He also remembers a related promotion (I’m assuming a contest on CN) that gave away supercomputers and a DVD with every episode. I know my friend’s word isn’t the gospel, but he tends to have a good memory and I don’t see why he would be making this stuff up.

Was the computer promo related to Subway? They did do contests, there was a Bear in the Big Blue House one, and they were one of the sponsors for a kids WB contest involving Batman.
Found an article confirming everything your friend said. No mention of a commercial however, but I don't think that proves there wasn't a commercial. Honestly, the super computer contest is super familiar, I wonder if it was just a commercial on Cartoon Network and Subway merely played the role of sponsor, like they did in the Batman contest.

Upon reading that article, this sounds familiar. I think there must have been a commercial. My friend grew up without internet access, so it’s unlikely to have learned about it from there. I guess there’s a chance he just happened to be in a restaurant and saw it there.

I kinda theorize there was a commercial, but more similar to this other Dexter contest that was sponsored by Discovery Zone: youtu.be/dkISuFe0abE
Although what complicates all of this is whether or not the toys were also shown off, or if the commercial was just about the contest. I can't find much else about the supercomputer contest, just the fact that it did happen. Dexter's Lab is weird because it had a lot of contests all around the same time. There is this Discovery Zone one that happened in 1998, the 'write your own episode' contest that also happened in 1998 (or maybe 97 bc the episode aired in 98), and this supercomputer contest that happened in 1999.

I suppose it’s possible that the supercomputer contest could have just said “brought to you by Subway” and my friend just deduced that Subway was doing toys. He would have been like 11 at the time, so it wasn’t like he was a really little kid.

Well I think at any rate we can assume there was a commercial for this contest, and that Subway probably played some role in the commercial. I think switching our focus on just finding the Dexter commercial could be helpful. I'm just not sure how to track it down....theres gotta be more info about the contest out there.
Okay did more research on "Dexter's Super Computer Giveaway" and finally figured out something. I was so confused why the fandom site said 2002 but everything else said 1999, turns out Dexter got a promo with Subway twice.
If you scroll down to Toys and Promotions they confirm that in 1999 Subway did the Super Computer Giveaway, and then in 2002 did another kids meal deal with Dexter's Lab. I'm kinda wondering if they just re-released the same toys?
I'm not sure what that means for the commercial really, but I'm definitely still thinking the 1999 promo had one for sure since it was attached to the contest.
Also while we're on the subject, those DVDs from the contest prize have to be worth a lot right? The show didn't get a real dvd release until much later.
Okay now I'm getting it, I dunno why I had a hard time looking at that Ebay listing originally, it was too much to look at.
So I'm gonna focus on the 1999 one still. I did find the airhead's Dexter's Lab contest promo so I think the super computer one will turn up in my search
I'm fairly certain there is a television promotion for the super computer contest because every other Dexter's Lab contest also got a promotion. Finding it is hard, but I already found the Airhead's promotion and the Discovery Zone one, so I'm sure it's out there somewhere.
However once it's found, it does little to prove if the other Subway tie ins also got commercials since the Dexter one is specifically a contest. But I do wonder if they show off the toys in the 1999 promotion, I mean it would be kinda weird if they didn't?
This is all so complicated because I still really can't determine if the Cartoon Network properties also received any commercials.
