Considering what the game's characters look & are like, I'm not surprised.
It's not that which causes issues shockingly. It's that, not getting into too much detail but, a lot of shipping issues, for awhile self shippers were a big issue. A lot of people pretending they were dating the characters that got a little too far. Though self shipping always goes too far. But back on topic. The Neptunia Fandom gets a little out of hand, and then Vtuber fans got involved and MAN it was not fun. I just wanna play this mid franchise in peace.
To be fair though, Compile Heart, Idea Factory, and Nippon Ichi Software tend to attract some not good people and a lot of bullshit.

Oh yeah, those people can be real annoying to deal with as well. I should know this because I watch Henya sometimes & I find her charming & funny.

As a showcase of the fact that I have a lot of interests that you don't expect one person to have. I'm sort of a fellow in which someone else would say to me something like "WHY ARE YOU EVERYWHERE!?".

As much as I like the show I sadly have to include Rick and Morty on here. The whole McDonald's Sauce debacle was truly embarrassing(yes Mickey D's should've absolutely seen the shortage coming and had way more sauce but that was still no excuse for the obnoxious behavior by fans).
Not really a fandom, but as someone who is semi-religious, the insufferable anti-religious fanatics/Reddit Atheists/alt right libertarian/anarchist (who are also anti-religious) folks. I outright see posts that don't even reference the right Biblical figure or verse yet still get upvoted. Or say the same tired overused anti-religion arguments ("Oh, yay, yet another person referenced eating shrimp. GOODY"). Rumor has it these people get so butthurt that even CORRECTING these people can result in a ban/suspension of some type.
As a somewhat religious individual, this is NOT to excuse religious violence, brutality, discrimination, or its role in TONS of horrendous past and current events. But if you're going to get pissy with me, at least know what you're talking about. For example, I have seen stuff like the curse of Ham referenced WAY more on the internet than I ever have in real life, after 15+ years of sitting in multiple kinds of churches. Or Westboro church being portrayed as if it's "mainstream religious belief" when the church attracts so few followers that most of the congregation is extended family.
