Here are some of mine: Disney lost media: On one hand, some of them DO sound interesting, but on the other hand it's Disney & to me, they usually never really make(or ever made) much media that I find interesting(The Owl House & Phineas And Ferb aside) compared to Cartoon Network. SpongeBob lost media: I mean, SpongeBob SquarePants is in itself a good show, but not one of my FAVORITES per se(Akazukin ChaCha, The Amazing World of Gumball, Uncle Grandpa, Mighty Max, Rocky And Bullwinkle & Space Cats are more of my liking), so when seeing lost media surrounding the sponge I usually am like, "Ehhh...". Some like The Humpback Hop & that pencil I kinda dig though. Plus Nickelodeon has already megamilked that sponge for all its worth, so lost media YouTubers kinda milking it as well just sounds so stupid IMO. Sports lost media: I am not a sports fanatic honestly. My dad is though.
I'm amazed that so far no one has opposed me on the SpongeBob lost media. I guess most people on this thread are sick of seeing him everywhere we go.
Dreams are boundless, imaginations are infinite, space is a multi-directional spiral & Akazukin ChaCha is my favorite anime

Yeah. We want more lost film media searches dammit! We gotta leak find those land before time deleted scenes, and we gotta leak all them cancelled movies (Larrikins, B.O.O, Me and My Shadow, Etc). Let’s hope 2024 will be a more promising year for lost media than this year was so far.

Because you're right, lol. With a franchise as big and heavily marketed as SpongeBob, it's basically impossible to document literally everything associated with it. I get that people feel more obligated to help look for lost media from series they care about, that's just natural considering its popularity. But it's still kind of frustrating to see that kind of thing get more attention than literally anything else.

Well, here's hoping that we find some similar long lost media for more obscure shows. To me, I would personally LOVE to see a yearbook kind of thing for Studio Gallop which could potentially have information on Akazukin ChaCha(not just their anime adaptation, but also the original manga series) that isn't anywhere on the internet! Heck, ANY MORE lost Akazukin ChaCha media I would love to see, especially since the possible existence of TWO OTHER English dubs has been around for a while!

Here's a couple in my opinion: - Lost real-life footage of people being killed/severely injured in some way. (I don't have any issues with documenting this kind of stuff, if it's notable in some way, but I don't necessarily think it needs to be found)
- Lost commercials/TV network commercial bumpers (I'm lumping these two together cuz they are pretty similar. It's seriously just like...who cares, y'know? I can get wanting to find a lost commercial that lots of people remember but there's no copies uploaded online or something like that, but so much of it is like 'Guuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuys help me find this one chocolate bar commercial I saw as a kid. I think I was like 6-7 years old, so it would've been 2002-2003 and I think I saw the ad on Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network'. Same thing with commercial bumpers, a search for some bumpers that a lot of people remember and aren't fully archived online (or aren't archived at all), I can get searching for something like that. But I'll never understand wanting to find the specific commercial bumper that aired during this obscure preschool show block in March 2009 or whatever)
Gore and pr0n. I don't think the world would be a better place if videos of people being mutilated or killing themselves are "recovered." Don't let the thrill of tracking down elusive lost content send you down a rabbit hole for illegal/degenerate content. Not everything deserves to be archived publicly, and lost media searchers' talents are better put to more noble endeavors.
Art is part of our culture. The best lost media is recovering something that had cultural impact itself, or giving a second life to something forgotten by most.
Early 2000s preschool show pilots. If it's something genuinely intriguing like there's something different about it then sure but like a slightly different color palette isn't worth anything and I don't like how much hype they get

I feel like the community has really focused on television show pilots for some time, perhaps to the detriment of other searches. There's definitely interesting ones, but I think what usually kicks off searches is just someone looking through shows they remember watching and seeing if a pilot is publicly available. Point being, sometimes the search is more about a property being popular than clues that a pilot is worth finding (or even properly existed).

I seriously think a big part of it is just the fact that the likelihood of finding one of these pilots is a lot higher compared to certain other types of lost media and people just want to be part of a group that finds something lost, so they just latch on to them in the hopes that they can one day say they helped find something that was once considered lost media.

Media Garage is posting a ton of lost/unaired pilots on Youtube and has been for months so I feel like there's less need for people to dig around for those now.
I don't get the hype for any lost content related to shows aimed at the pre-school audience myself(hell I don't get what the big deal about Bluey is period)as I have zero interest in those kinds of shows.

Same kinda goes for me. I usually don't have interest in pre-school shows(because they tend to bore me unless it's The Backyardigans which has a surprising amount of effort put into it & ISN'T educational), so these pilots come off as kinda uninteresting. I also tend to not have interest in live-action shows all that much because IMO it just doesn't have the oomf to it that animated shows have(and also I mainly grew up on animation as a whole whereas I barely have watched live-action shows throughout my life; documentaries, soap operas, true crime shows, pre-school shows(because I'd rather have those shows just be live-action than dealing with them whenever I want to look at some animated shows) yeah those work for me, but otherwise I wouldn't bother). So yeah, needless to say that Me And My Friends pilot is both pre-school oriented AND live-action & as a result it comes off as a crappy Barney knockoff to me. I'm really thankful the final show went for CGI instead.

I do enjoy live-action shows quite a bit and there's a number of those who i'd love to see more interest in. I did grow up on animation but unfortunately for me animated shows got way less interesting from like the late 2000s onwards(at least the stuff aimed at kids, adult animation has mostly been solid)you had shows like Fanboy and Chum Chum with ugly CGI and way too many shows like Chowder that used fairly bland looking flash animation and I gravitated more towards live-action stuff as a result of me being bored by a lot of the popular animated shows.

Well for me, I discovered a lot of cult classic animated shows like Space Cats, Captain Simian And the Space Monkeys, Foofur, Magical Doremi, Mighty Max, King Arthur And the Knights of Justice, Space Strikers, Oscar's Orchestra & quite possibly the one with the biggest impact on me, Akazukin ChaCha. I can thank the internet A LOT for making me discover such shows because I really like all of these, with each one of them being special in their own unique ways. Not to mention logos which I became interested in BECAUSE I was interested in animation. Those animated logos ALONE kept me busy on animation before I went on to research on video games.
EDIT: Before you ask why I went on the internet to discover such shows instead of watching whatever live-action stuff was on at the time, well it's because by the time I was in 4th grade, I already had a fair bit of experience on the internet. Plus I was interested in history in general, wanting to know what things were like back then. It was a combo that helped me become sort of a "retro game whiz kid" so to speak... to my classmates, not necessarily anywhere else(and it also explains why this page exists).
