Glad you started this discussion, as this has been driving me crazy and is actually the reason I joined the site!
In the early to mid 90s, it was a largeish book, mainly white with a blue border, and a tiger cub in the center. It was a book of tales of the animals in a zoo; I think it was mostly told from the perspective of the cub. The tone was humorous, and the one story I remember from it is a male all gold tiger and a female all black tiger had a baby together, and the cub came out gold with black stripes; it was a telling of how the tiger got his stripes. Also there were a couple of board games in the book, I think one was a race between the hippo and the rhino.
The other book I'm looking for I would have read 1998ish, it was a chapter book about a girl who is very sad because her family has to move to another town. She had a big brown dog, either a German Shepherd or a Great Dane, and they may have had to rehome him due to the move which was contributing to her sadness? Her mother tells her to take a bubble bath to make her sadness go away. They refer frequently in the book to sadness as either "having the blues" or "down in the dumps" or possibly both? I also think the girl's name was either Lucy or Lulu? Cover I think was purple.
If anyone has any leads or remembers any detail about either of these books, no matter how small, please reach out to me!
He cut his trail of tears across the countryside And where he went, women wept and men died One night he woke from a vision of his own death Saddled his pony and rode her deep into the West
Picture book about some kid in New York trying to be pigeons.
First book I ever read was one about some camp where under the cabins were some monsters that didn't necessarily traumatize me but fueled my imagination.
In 2012 or so, I read a book in the school library about a boy whose father made him climb inside a beached whale to get at the ambergris inside. The story ended with the whale exploding... From the cover, it looked like it was aimed at the same sort of demographic as Goosebumps, maybe a little more mature?

Four books I remember from my childhood:
1. It was a book I had as a young child in the early ‘90’s, but I think it was much older. It was about a family of rabbits, and they had a baby. The whole book had every family member going over what they think the baby is going to be when he grows up, only to fast forward to him as an adult and being a stay at home dad basically doing all those jobs with his kid (like being a teacher, a doctor, etc).
2. A book my grandma had, and I’m guessing it’s from the ‘70’s. It was about a pig who liked to eat a lot and it ends with him eating so much he explodes (comically) and his friends debating what happened to him. Specifically I remember one friend thinking he turned into an angel and another thought he turned into a pig shaped blimp.
3. Another book my grandma had, it took place in China or Japan. I’m guessing it’s a traditional folktale. All I really remember was a bear that was wearing clothes, probably pretending to be a human. I think he was trying to kidnap some children. The book ends when he chases the kids up a tree and they throw a knife down his throat. It was pretty violent for a kids book and my grandma and I were both shocked.
4. It was a book I read in 3rd grade (1998-1999) school year, but I think it was much older. It was about angels who designed animals, and the creator of lions originally designed a brightly colored animal with no mane. The other angels laughed at it so he smeared the colored chalk together to make it brown and give it a main.

That was a Little Golden Book called "The Bunny Book" aka "When Bunny Grows Up"

Pretty sure #2 is "What Happened To George?" by Betty Engebretson.

I remember reading a book in school as a child and never figured out what it was. What I remember, it was about a group of teens I think, maybe in the 1950s (not sure about that), in the USA and they were in a Junkyard or somewhere like it and they had to get to the city which was far enough down the road or they were at least walking towards the city and it was about what happened with them along the way. If this isn't the plot of an actual book (which I have not ruled out yet), it might be a Mandela effect and I was misremembering parts of The Outsiders, which was a book I did read and I saw the movie.
When I was a child in the 1990s, someone came and gave my parents a set of Christian religious books. I don't exactly know what the exact books were called though. They were paperback books that I think were rectangle shaped, each having a different coloured cover like red or yellow and each had a story from the bible in them with almost stick figure like drawings of the characters throughout. I don't think each book had many pages.
I also remember having a large book of bible stories for children which was hardback with colour drawings. I am sure it was bigger than A4 sized but not sure what it was called either. I am sure one of the drawings in it was a detailed coloured drawing of Goliath being hit by the stone slung by David and you can see blood coming down one side of Goliaths face where he was hit. Don't know when the book might have been from, possibly 1980s or before or the very early 1990s but I guess it was before then as I had the book as a very young child and I was born in 1988.

Is the large book of bible stories "The Bible Story" by Arthur S Maxwell?
He cut his trail of tears across the countryside And where he went, women wept and men died One night he woke from a vision of his own death Saddled his pony and rode her deep into the West
there were a couple books i seen in my lifetime that i never saw again
one was a grade 1 phonics book called breakfast in the bathtub
another was some spiderman comic from the 70s that i read in 2013 or so (it was either one of the ones with electro or some other villan of the week on it) all i remember from it was that there were these ads that featured other marvel characters (pre disney) in it like the hulk saving these ice cream bars or something like that
then there was this pokemon junior book i seen at a thrift store right around the same time (this one was esencially babies firs introducton to pokemon with them saying that pokemon are magical creatures and that all there moves are magic such as glammeow uses its magic with its beautiful eyes, it was also toned down a bit compared to the real pokemon series like how they just said that team rocket are very bad people who steal pokemon instead of like in the more mature pokemon media for older kids that says that team rocket are terrorists that capture and sell pokemon
lastly i have seen many manga over the years that i have forgotten about alongside various adaptations of lord of the rings (pre 9/11) such as one book based on the 80s cartoon and the various prints of warrior cats (usually if i see manga i also see warrior cats books alongside it so i pick both up if i have enough pocket change on me)
i even had the entire set of the first edition harry potter books (at least until they were stolen after my father died in 2009)
i have also seen various ads in magazines over the years some from the 70s, 80s and 90s but mostly from the 2000s and 2010s
one ad i remember seeing while i was at the now defunct and demolished chedoke hospital evel pavilion while getting therapy (as usual as a teen) was an ad that featured a cartoon baby on it and because i was and still am an abdl i thought the diaper on the baby looked cute (it was an ad about parenting where the baby was wearing a diaper with tapes on it holding a blankie and then another image of them with a pacifier but still showing the diaper with its tape gap)
there were also several ads that i have seen on national geographic magazines (again mostly from between 1968-2001) some were at school while others were in my moms possession
lastly i also had an old disney magazine from the 80s (or very early 90s) that featured an ad for duck tales for the nes alongside several ads that are staples of 80s and early 90s culture that may have really aged poorly like a jello pudding pops ad feat bill cosby and an ad for these off brand underoos that featured the teenage mutant ninja turtles, mickey mouse and batman, back on topic this magazine also featured these cute edits of disney characters photoshopped into different situations
i forgot what the magazine was called but i read it constantly as i was curious about the days when the disney renaissance was in its infancy
lastly in the spiderman codebook from 2006 that was filled to the brim with the half of the damn code book dedicated to spiderman 3s graphics and development and the history of spiderman games from the nes and turbographics 16 to the ps3 and wii (that was the first time i even heard of a turbo graphics 16)
back on topic in the back of the book they featured an ad for a sonic version of this codebook which was a breath of fresh air from half the book featuring facts about a spiderman game that isn't even that good
case in point here are the things i want to find in my lifetime
breakfast in bathtub (phonics book from either the 90s or early 2000s)
the 1973 or so issue of spiderman featuring that one hulk ice cream ad
pokemon junior (or my first pokemon idk what it was called)
warrior cats into the wild (the one where the main protagonist gets its collar ripped off)
the complete series of the british harry potter books
that one ad in the some parenting magazine from 2008-2010 that featured a cartoon baby that looked like a homestar runner character wearing a diaper with a blankie and a pink pacifier covering up half the diaper but still showing the gap below the tapes
various national geographic ads and articles from 1953-2001)
a clean copy of the 1988 issues of that one disney magazine i had as a kid
the 2005 sonic cheatcode book

I am not sure. I had a quick look at one on Google books and the artwork in the book did look familiar but the cover didn't as I was sure the cover had a darker blue than those, but then again I must have been between 4-6 when I had it so I am probably not going to remember it perfectly.

The Arthur S Maxwell series have been reprinted since the 1920s; different editions have different appearances. I have some from the 1940s to the 90s and they look different depending on the age.

Thanks, never knew that, probably could be a version of one of the books I had then.
