Books You Read That You've Never Identified

there were a couple books i seen in my lifetime that i never saw again

one was a grade 1 phonics book called breakfast in the bathtub

another was some spiderman comic from the 70s that i read in 2013 or so (it was either one of the ones with electro or some other villan of the week on it) all i remember from it was that there were these ads that featured other marvel characters (pre disney) in it like the hulk saving these ice cream bars or something like that

then there was this pokemon junior book i seen at a thrift store right around the same time (this one was esencially babies firs introducton to pokemon with them saying that pokemon are magical creatures and that all there moves are magic such as glammeow uses its magic with its beautiful eyes, it was also toned down a bit compared to the real pokemon series like how they just said that team rocket are very bad people who steal pokemon instead of like in the more mature pokemon media for older kids that says that team rocket are terrorists that capture and sell pokemon

lastly i have seen many manga over the years that i have forgotten about alongside various adaptations of lord of the rings (pre 9/11) such as one book based on the 80s cartoon and the various prints of warrior cats (usually if i see manga i also see warrior cats books alongside it so i pick both up if i have enough pocket change on me)

i even had the entire set of the first edition harry potter books (at least until they were stolen after my father died in 2009)

i have also seen various ads in magazines over the years some from the 70s, 80s and 90s but mostly from the 2000s and 2010s

one ad i remember seeing while i was at the now defunct and demolished chedoke hospital evel pavilion while getting therapy (as usual as a teen) was an ad that featured a cartoon baby on it and because i was and still am an abdl i thought the diaper on the baby looked cute (it was an ad about parenting where the baby was wearing a diaper with tapes on it holding a blankie and then another image of them with a pacifier but still showing the diaper with its tape gap)

there were also several ads that i have seen on national geographic magazines (again mostly from between 1968-2001) some were at school while others were in my moms possession

lastly i also had an old disney magazine from the 80s (or very early 90s) that featured an ad for duck tales for the nes alongside several ads that are staples of 80s and early 90s culture that may have really aged poorly like a jello pudding pops ad feat bill cosby and an ad for these off brand underoos that featured the teenage mutant ninja turtles, mickey mouse and batman, back on topic this magazine also featured these cute edits of disney characters photoshopped into different situations

i forgot what the magazine was called but i read it constantly as i was curious about the days when the disney renaissance was in its infancy

lastly in the spiderman codebook from 2006 that was filled to the brim with the half of the damn code book dedicated to spiderman 3s graphics and development and the history of spiderman games from the nes and turbographics 16 to the ps3 and wii (that was the first time i even heard of a turbo graphics 16)

back on topic in the back of the book they featured an ad for a sonic version of this codebook which was a breath of fresh air from half the book featuring facts about a spiderman game that isn't even that good


case in point here are the things i want to find in my lifetime

breakfast in bathtub (phonics book from either the 90s or early 2000s)

the 1973 or so issue of spiderman featuring that one hulk ice cream ad

pokemon junior (or my first pokemon idk what it was called)

warrior cats into the wild (the one where the main protagonist gets its collar ripped off)

the complete series of the british harry potter books

that one ad in the some parenting magazine from 2008-2010 that featured a cartoon baby that looked like a homestar runner character wearing a diaper with a blankie and a pink pacifier covering up half the diaper but still showing the gap below the tapes

various national geographic ads and articles from 1953-2001)

a clean copy of the 1988 issues of that one disney magazine i had as a kid

the 2005 sonic cheatcode book

The closest thing I think of this MAD magazine from March 2000: madtrash.com/item/012510391/

It fits the time period perfectly, as well as being written as a book. However it misses way too many things. There’s nothing about pizza, none of the pictures I remember where there, and the cover is all wrong. I understand if I misremembered two or three things, but everything? No.

The Arthur S Maxwell series have been reprinted since the 1920s; different editions have different appearances. I have some from the 1940s to the 90s and they look different depending on the age.

A book i read back in 6th grade about a girl and her younger brother wakin up in a world where everyone over 13 is just vanished (or died??) and theres a civilization in a school and some kid gets his face melted off with hot oil
