Also, I had no idea you had a youtube channel, Ziggy. Your breakfast club restoration is phenomenal. If one were to tell me that footage was from like, 2005, I’d totally believe them!
Also just so you know, garret gilchrist is making another cut of the thief and the cobbler: recobbled cut, called “Mark 4-2”. It features multiple newly completed chits that were previously unfinished. I’m sure one day, the movie could be 100% completed at this rate.
That's awesome! I also recently requested him a topic about a lost toy. Don't know if you can access other people's messages, but of you can then here it is.
It doesn’t let me read it. The same would probably happen if I tried to send mine to you.
Well I'll copy it then
Me; Hey LSuperSonicQ, I wanted to give you a case that is right up your alley. It's a rare toy that no one even knows if it was released or not. This is a Brrrbil. Brrrbils were Furby inspired toys that you had to keep in a freezer, and if you were to keep it out for too long it'd start having a meltdown. It was made by a company simply called Exitement which is based out of Hong Kong and it was supposedly released in 2000 (the height of the Furbys popularity.) No models have ever been found and the only evidence of it is footage from a Hong Kong toy show

I've been a long-time fan and I loved your merch Mysteries, and no one seems to be hopping onto this mystery, but I know if anyone can solve it.............. you can.
Lssq; I feel like I've heard about this one before but I've never looked into it. Have people really not done any research on this before? It seems like something that would have been covered but I am definitely interested in the topic.
Thanks for telling me about it, I'm going to do some looking around and see what I can find!
Me; I couldn't find any evidence of investigations into it. Everyone just assumed it never came out, but you never know. Everyone thought the Waluigis Toenail Cliping Party game was fake so this could've come out. Thanks for looking into it, and I hope we can come to a conclusion about the existence of this product.

Nice. I just hope his video will be good enough word-of-mouth to start another search for both the deleted scenes, and the lost toy. I’ll be honest, I never expected him to accept my video idea, let alone even acknowledge my existence. I never have that luck with most youtubers.
Overall, he just didn’t seem like the type of guy to be interested in lost film media, especially when something like this would be pretty difficult to find, but I couldn’t be more proud to be wrong.

I appreciate the kind words but I didn't touch any of the footage from Breakfast Club, haha, thats all raw tape footage! And yes I'm aware of Gilchrist's Mark 4-2 (now named Mark 5,) it's an interesting project. Certainly ambitious.

Oh, well in that case, it aged like a fine wine. If only the same could be said for other John Hughes movies (planes trains and automobiles, uncle buck, etc.)
Do you think the other hour of footage for PTA that hasn’t been released still exists? I’d love to see that extended state trooper scene.

Probably, iirc the deleted scenes from The Breakfast Club still exist on film but are still held by Hughes' estate. There's a lot of stuff held by his widow that hasn't been released, I think.

I still hope that nude scene with that female swim instructor surfaces one of these days.

Really? I was under the impression that the original film elements were thrown out, and they only survived on VHS.
Also, why is his widow holding all this stuff away from the public? Did John Hughes not want this stuff released or something? I don’t see anything but great things happening if they are released, but there’s probably just something I’m missing, or don’t know.
Wait a second, does that mean the original cut of planes, trains and automobiles could still exist on film too? I mean, that airplane food scene had to come from somewhere. If this is the case, I would totally love to see how the vhs deleted scenes would look on film.
Also, I can’t be the only one who thinks that in certain shots from the pizza sequence, the lighting on John Candy’s face looks like he’s telling a scary story.

Don't worry, the digital version is still entirely free and has very minute differences. This is just for the people that want a physical copy.
Nice. Also, another question, how do I help out in a search without contacting people? I honestly don’t trust myself with doing that, because no matter how many times I read your book and think it over, I will probably still somehow find a way to fuck it up.
I can do stuff in a search like look for leads, but in terms of contacting, having me do it would be like hiring EDP 445 to work at a children’s daycare center, which is to say, a disaster.

Well it really depends on what you're looking for. In some cases contacting another is the only way you're gonna find something. It just really depends on what it is. But sifting through old magazines, press releases, and various promotional materials for whatever it is usually reveals details unknown beforehand, y'know?

Well, i’m trying to drum up attention for the land before time’s lost deleted scenes, so I imagine that will require quite a bit of contacting. I have no problem looking for leads to contact, if that’s important.
I think garret gilchrist might help, since I believe he mentioned this was one of his holy grails on the orange cows forum once. Maybe when he’s don’t with mark 5 of the recobbled cut.
Update: DarkRage6 sent an email to him, with a link to my thread. It’s just a matter of time, hopefully.
Wait, press releases actually reveal this type of info? I’ve never read one.

I am learning about Lost Media how can those pieces of media were not in light in a day like example lost episode of kids show or maybe obscure lost media like audio media.
