The real mystery is, why is this guy's name Goopy?
I mean, this wouldn't be a great lost media piece if he didn't just ignore all messages about it.
How about messaging the people who said they worked with him on his LinkedIn page? I'm just sitting here reading his recommendations "I loved working with Goopy blah blah blah" and thinking who is named Goopy?

I JUST REALIZED; THERE MIGHT BE A FEW FRAMES OF THIS IN A MAIN SERIES EPISODE. In "Spongebob, Sandy, and the Worm", there is a CGI shot showing movement of the frame past some plants around the end of the worm chase, most likley added in to make everything seem cooler while saving money. It's only there for a second or two, but hey, it's a lead. Also, Bump.
Edit: Oh fiddlesticks, I looked up the episode, and it aired in 2001. So, back to where we last were.

Privileged white trash lol. If you're lonely, talk to me on the Discord.
first no CG in the very first few episodes, Then CG is first used in the s1 episode "Jellyfish Jam" but only for backgrounds and whatnot, and now, SB is fully CG. go figure.
Your constant use of the term "CG" and your profile picture being a GIF of the DK Rap made me think of this.
Despite the DK rap being trashed by that guy, and the rap being on the list of watch mojo's top 10 cheesy game songs, I still love the rap to this day, and I know the lyrics by the heart

DK! Donkey Kong is here! I love that little cheesy song, but nothing tops the Pokerap (Electrode, Diglett, Nidoran, Mankey...)
I'm surprised there isn't a more dedicated search for this, I guess people are burned out from spongebob lost media after searching for months for something that never existed.

True; I just saw a total window for them to pursue via contacting Goopy's associates through his LinkIn page, so we could at least figure out what the heck this thing is, and maybe even "Oh, I have a copy of that", but no, I guess?
I just tried contacting Nickelodeon through their website asking for any information about the short, I'll let you guys know about it when/if they email me back.
Alright, they haven't responded yet, so it comes to the conclusion that they're probably never going to respond. So I guess the only lead we've got right now is probably Goopy Rossi. I guess we're just gonna have to keep looking.

Have you thought about asking Nickelodeon about the short? Maybe they could give some information. Or maybe Spongebob's voice actor to see if he remembers the short.

From looking at the clip on Vimeo, it doesn't look like there was any voice acting, so it seems unlikely that Tom Kenny would know anything about this. But I don't know, nobody's seen the rest of the short so it's still possible he might've had something to do with it, but I doubt it. And besides, there's no way to contact him that I know about.
The tl;dr version is that the 30 seconds of footage we had was actually the entire thing, minus the short's original audio. The LMW article has been updated to reflect this and is finally in a readable state.
