Not going to lie, I wouldn't call this lost media considering the comic was republished in six separate volumes. This comic was out of print. I can see that you put "lost" in quotations in your title.
And to be completely honest, I think your video would benefit from some kind of script. I'm currently seven minutes into your thirty one minute video, and somehow the topic of HOW this became "lost" for so long hasn't been brought up once. Most of that time has been spent talking about (and vaguely simplifying) the lolicon boom and cracking jokes about it.
"Ultraman Kids" was one of the few Ultra Series anime and these designs fit into that aspect.
I think there's a definite possibility that it could be Ultraman Kids. However, there's a few things I'm unsure about. The ad I own is from October of 1982. There was an Ultraman Kids film in 1984, but the additional scans I provided stated that it was going to be an adult animated TV series. Though, I can't find any sources to back up those claims... or really, any other sources in general, lol.
I think this could've been a really early concept for Ultraman Kids, but I feel like there's not enough information to make a definitive conclusion just yet. Thank you for your reply!!
I'm not super familiar with Tokusatsu stuff, so if anyone here could help guide me in the right direction, it would help a lot.
For context: I found an ad for a Tsuburaya Productions project titled "Monster Gang", but I have absolutely no clue what it is. I haven't been able to find an anime that matches this ad. Here's an image of it:
I found some additional information about it through the Internet Archive, which can be read here: x
TL;DR It was supposed to be an animated TV series aimed at adults.
Is there any possibility this could be a another Tsuburaya Pro anime, just under a different name? Again, I'm not super familiar with Tokusatsu stuff, so I'm kind of in the dark. I do know that Tsuburaya Pro didn't produce a ton of anime, and this doesn't really match anything from the time. (At least, from what I can tell.)
Any additional info would be greatly appreciated!!
There is a lost promo of an anime based on The Powerpuff Girls titled Powerpuff Girls Z that I vividly watched on Boomerang in Australia when I was a kid that became a guilty pleasure of mine and throughout years of browsing PPGZ, I can't find it anywhere on YouTube and it's a promo that I first discovered the show when I was 8. I think the promo begins with a narrator ask a pop-up question to viewers that is something along the lines of "What can you do while fighting bad guys? Can it be... a yo-yo?" Blossom yells her attack phrase, "Power Yo Attack!" The narrator asks another weapon, "A hammer?" Buttercup yells, "Megaton Hammer!" And then the narrator asks the final weapon, "A bubble wand?" And Bubbles yells, "Lazing Bubbles!" Then, the narrator tells the viewers that is something along the lines of "These girls are here for a new generation..." And the Powerpuff Girls Z yells their transformative phrase, "Powerpuff Girls Z!" while doing their transformative pose.
I know I have been a member of the Lost Media Wiki forum since 2017 but I usually lurk after I made my first thread about a request of the same anime (https://forums.lostmediawiki.com/thread/1865/request-powerpuff-girls) that no one responded... But the lost Boomerang Australian Powerpuff Girls Z promo exists and I can't find it anywhere online.
The Demas hits pilot has been partially found
Not what OP is looking for. OP is looking for a Boomerang Australia promo.
To OP: I believe that if this is online, it's most likely in a compilation video of some sort. I don't know how well preserved these region-exclusive bumpers/promos are, though.
First, I found some screenshots, which have an "ANIMAX" Ident in the bottom right corner. I wasn't able to find a schedule, only a few mentions about a "broadcasting error"
I completely forgot to reply to this, I'm so sorry! This is fantastic news!! Thank you so much for this lead, IMO it gives the show a much better chance of being found. I'll have to investigate this further when I get the chance... tysm!!
Not sure if this is a lead, but I'm fairly positive Toei Animation Europe had an English pitch trailer for this series on their website years ago. Unfortunately, a lot of those videos weren't downloaded, and they weren't archived through the WayBack Machine, either. Here's a link to the website: x

Saw this video, seems to be taken from TBS on the same date, maybe this person has more footage? I contacted them about it on Facebook (linking this thread), I'll let you know if they have the footage/tape once they reply... If this is even the same thing of course as I don't really know what TBS is lol, hope you can find it!
TBS was a TV channel, and the video you found is an extremely strong lead, since it's recorded on the same date/station that OP is looking for. Keep us (especially OP) updated if they respond!!
The sites you mentioned (YJA and Mercari) are the two I recommend. Though, if you search for "VHS" on either of those sites, you'll be swarmed with results. Some advice:
-ビデオテープ tends to provide more blank/prerecorded search results than just VHS. VHSテープ can sometimes come up with different results, and for Betamax tapes, ベータテープ can come up with different results.
-Unlike eBay, sellers on Yahoo Japan Auctions very rarely show the labels on their tapes. Most of the time they'll either be censored with a photo editing software, or they'll be omitted altogether. From my experience (and for some reason), on sites like Mercari you're more likely to find tape lots that have their labels pictured. Keep in mind though that it's not very common.
-Knowing how to read Japanese is not necessary, but is extremely helpful, especially when it comes to reading labels. When I was first starting out, I would use the Google Translate app to scan listing photos to make out any kanji/vocab that I couldn't understand. This can be hit or miss, as some labels are not clearly written.
-If you're fine with purchasing tapes with unknown material on them, be prepared for anything. The first VHS lot I purchased was completely random, and there were adult movies mixed in lmao
-Some sellers will say that their tapes are from a specific time frame, such as the 1980s or the 1990s. These are usually legit claims, though be cautious if a seller claims they have something specific (that is not otherwise stated on the label). It's very common for sellers to say that they have a specific anime/drama series in their descriptions, but these are often scams.
The same rules for purchasing used tapes on eBay also apply here. Watch out for tape mold. Just because something is on a tape label, doesn't mean it's still on the tape. Bulk lots are heavy and hard to ship out of the country, so start with very small lots of around five or so. (In general/my experience) Betamax is more likely to have material from around the 1980s.
Looks like a very cute show!! If there's one positive to this, it's that it aired (somewhat) recently (mid 1990s/early 2000s). I think if this dub aired in the late 80s/early 90s, and only in those two countries, the odds of finding it would be next to impossible.
I'm unsure how prevalent the archiving scene is in Thailand, but I do know of an Australian archivist who specialize in uploading prerecorded VHS tapes. Though I doubt they have any episodes, it certainly wouldn't hurt to contact them and let them know to be on the look out for it!! Their username is flemishdog on Twitter.
Hm, let's get back on topic. There's some deleted scenes for Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 I'd love to see, but from what I've heard, it sounds like they're either destroyed or at least inaccessible at this current moment. Some of them sound insane, IIRC there was one with Dennis Hopper's character fighting an imaginary chainsaw.
This might be a petty answer since I've never personally watched this YouTubers content, but there's one user on the Internet Archive who reuploads a bunch of videos from this one VTuber who talks about current events. All of his videos have incredibly inflammatory titles, I think his name is Rev. Never bothered to look into his content, since all of the video reuploads on the Internet Archive make looking through the "anime" tag an absolute nightmare. Imagine thumbnails with a generic girl VTuber model with titles like "WOKE ANIME COMMUNITY OWNED" spanning rows and rows of search results. It's abysmal lmao
I'm not familiar with his videos, so I'm unsure if this is everything he's uploaded. There's 500+ videos in this playlist though, so hopefully you'll find what you're looking for.
House of 1000 Corpses, mostly because there WAS (allegedly) an alternate cut/screener online at some point in 2003. The person who uploaded it stated it had a runtime of approx. 103 minutes, compared to the final films' runtime of 89 minutes. That film had entire subplots and characters cut, so I would love to see how different it was compared to the final movie.
Hello, silly question. Is a work being found period, even in the worst quality, better than not found at all? I am saying this because I have some old recordings of TLC's Ready Set Learn block, Playhouse Disney, and PBS Kids Go that have some interesting, crossing-my-fingers lost bumpers, coming-up-nexts, and promos on them, but with few exceptions (including, fortunately, the cream of the crop - multiple Ooh and Aah bumpers), many of them have an extremely weird audio issue with chipmunk vocals(?) and rock music(?) loudly playing over everything in an extremely cacophonic manner. Some are also very degraded, to the point that they have turned black and white. Do these promo finds still matter? (For reference, nothing lost with the actual shows, as far as I can tell - in regards to Ready Set Learn, the Paz segments don't seem to be the three that are still lost, and I don't know the complete story in regards to the preservation status of the Mercury Filmworks puppet show Wilbur).
Also, while I've been on the wiki a little bit, new to the forums. Hi. If you want to know anything about lost logos (there are several searches going on back on AVID that I don't think the wider lost media community knows of yet), or want a link to my old Reddit search for the script of the cancelled Fraggle Rock movie that concluded with "script survives and we have a detailed summary, but it cannot be shown publicly for legal purposes", let me know.
Interesting, I've never heard of that kind of audio issue before. I think the chipmunk vocals could be fixed if you pitched down the audio in editing, though I'm unsure how the other audio issues like the rock music could be fixed. This does sound like it's an issues with the tapes, but just to be sure I would definitely check that the issue isn't the settings of your capture device/the VCR itself.
To answer your question: In these types of cases, I believe that something is always better than nothing, especially with lost media. I've uploaded VHS tapes with condition issues onto the Internet Archive, and I preface the titles with (POOR QUALITY) at the beginning so users will know what they're about to watch. I would also add a flashing lights/epilepsy warning if there's any severe distortion. (I've had to do this if there's static that flickers really fast)
