Also, apologizes if this is a super dumb question: Just how rare are DBZ recordings from Toonami? I ask because I have a VHS tape with a couple hours worth of episodes, but there's this static line at the bottom of the screen that affects most of the tape. I'm going to try and mess with it some more once I get my VCR working, but from what I saw, all of the episodes are from the beginning of the Cell Saga.
The original audio that for whatever reason Toei decided to junk and was only found via tracking down off air recordings from Japan.
This, original broadcast audio is the biggest Dragon Ball lost media search. Not sure on the status of those
Not to derail the topic of this thread, but I think this affects quite a few other Toei anime. Though, it would be a pain to try and track down broadcast audio for all of them... The fact that all of the broadcast audio for DB/DBZ/DBGT has been found is pretty miraculous. Shows how dedicated Dragon Ball fans are.
Problem is i cant really tell how to contact the owner from the website itself, is there an easier explanation?
"At the request of #youtubearchive's maintainer, instructions to request videos have been removed. If you are significantly involved in archiving or open source, you have a legitimate research or humanitarian purpose, or are able to contribute materially, contact me at thetechrobo@proton.me."
Contact the site owner with the email provided. The reason instructions were removed is because #youtubearchive was getting an influx of spam, if I remember correctly.
I think this same topic got mentioned in a discussion about pre-recorded VHS tapes, but I can't be 100% sure. But to answer your question: Yes, it has been brought up before.
The fact that a copy has surfaced is a miracle in itself, considering this only aired once in 1980 AND was region-exclusive. But considering the Twitter user is unwilling to share it (and for good reason), there really isn't much that can be done... unless you want to spend the time/effort searching through pre-recorded VHS/Betamax tapes, but even then, it's like a needle in a haystack.
Unfortunately, this is a common issue with Japanese TV broadcasts, especially for shows/TV specials that only aired once.
Any way to recover this? Thumbnail still appears in the playlist I had it in. www.youtube.com/watch?v=hIaT2NpFhGk Title: Mary Poppins on Broadway Uploader: emanougian1992
According to YouTube Video Finder, it is available through the Wayback Machine. Click here: x
Right click the video, and click "Save Video As" if you wish to save it to your computer.
Here's a link to the YouTube Video Finder website for future reference:
Could be, would be needed at least the contact of the owner for that. This Channel of yours, would you happen to have some links for any of these videos?
The specific video I'm trying to recover from them I can't seem to find a link for, but the channel was called 24thPowerProductions and the dub I'm looking for from them is of the SpongeBob episode The Secret Box. It's the only lost dub in a series of 17 total and was chronologically the 15th dub in the series. There's an entire LMW article on it and LSuperSonicQ said he'd cover it in an upcoming video about dubs (seemingly throwing this in with official dubs).
But there are some links to the original uploads of his dubs, such as his Sailor Mouth dub which was his most popular one: youtube.com/watch?v=hxTMSzMBTwE
YouTube Video Finder only works if you have the URL for the video. If you can somehow find the URL (through the WayBack Machine or otherwise), then you'll be able to use the site. Otherwise, it's no good.
Where #youtubearchive comes in: YouTube Video Finder combs through multiple archives. If you put a URL into YouTube Video Finder, and the deleted video can ONLY be found in #youtubearchive, you will have to message the site owner. There will be instructions on where to contact them, and you can go from there.
Nostalgia Critic, Mr Enter, Turkey Tom, Jontron, Cosmodore, Illuminaughtii and NickIsNotGreen.
No elaborations necesarily.
Also Moviebob due to his eugenics sympathies and his "don't ask questions just consume product and get excited for future products" mindset.
Can't speak on all of these since I'm not familiar with everyone listed, but I'm 100% with you on NickIsNotGreen. I would watch his videos about weird TikTok drama like the lady who got that terrible B-Day cake. I stopped watching him due to his video on Sorb3t, but then everything else happened and now I have no interest in watching any of his videos again.
Not sure if this counts since it's been found in its entirety, but I remember watching "Out of Jimmy's Head" when it aired. I have very vague memories about an episode with a roller coaster/amusement park inside of a house. It stands out to me because I REALLY didn't like watching it, lol
Have not heard about this search until now, since I've not been super active in the community. I just had someone reply to one of my Japanese commercial compilations on YouTube to tell me that "EKT isn't on here!!" and I had absolutely no clue what the hell they were talking about. Reading this thread, I'm still very confused, though I'll keep my eyes peeled for it.
While this is interesting, it is not the full lost tape. That will deteriorate in storage before it is ever released.
That being said, there is a reason the NPS begs tourists not to bother the animals. I think it should be released as a warning. This guy was insanely talented with animals and he still met a very sad fate.
What's tragic is that, in almost all of these cases, the family/friends of the deceased decide not to release the footage/audio to the public BECAUSE they don't want the tragedy to become a spectacle.
Release it: It's a constant reminder. No longer will people focus on their life, but instead, the spectacle of their death.
Don't release it: Onlookers will continue to speculate on the tragedy, trying to piece together what's currently available like it's some sort of conspiracy theory.
In any case, I think the best way to honor their lives is by looking into local wildlife conservation efforts, and not by trying to preserve the audio of their final moments.
A few weeks ago, I was reading information of the commercial song from Pikmin 1, Ai no Uta, on Piklopedia and there was a piece of information that caught my attention. Apparently, a music video was shot on September 26th, 2001 and it was uploaded on Youtube by a user named Saihate4250 on May 18th, 2018.
Unfortunately, the video was taken down by the Recording Industry Association of Japan. The only photo I can find is the thumbnail of the video that was posted by @lairofbono on Twitter.
I was trying to find the music video for myself through various Japanese video-sharing websites, but I couldn't find it anywhere. Does anyone have the video archived at some point when it was still available on Youtube? Or at least have more information about it? Any help would be great.
Good news: The video WAS archived through #youtubearchive. Bad news: the service is sort of under an "invite-only" mode due to a swarm of new members. I would follow the instructions listed on the YouTube Video Finder website on how to get in contact with the site owner.
Oh my gosh, this is wonderful news!! It's a bit funny to me that Collectollider showed the VCDs without knowing how highly sought after they were, lol. However, I appreciate both his work/the work of Davo and everyone else who made this possible!!
The Japanese name for "Warera High School Hero" is われらハイスクールヒーロー. Her Japanese Wikipedia page lists some other stories that she's published, and most of them aren't listed on her English Wikipedia page. The Japanese page also provides sources for each story/which magazine they appeared in, which is very helpful imo. You can find it here: x
I hope this helps somewhat!! Akazukin ChaCha seems like a very cute series, and I've been interested in checking it out.
