Around 2004 or 2005, Teletoon released a game called "Airheads Bubble Dog's Crazy Mission" on the Teletoon.com website, only for a very limited time,as I believe the game was part of a contest. It was up for only about a month or so I think, maybe even less. I think the way the contest worked was that you had to get the highest score on the scoredboard to win. I don't remember what the prize was,but it might have been an unlimited supply of Airheads candy. I remember emailing Teletoon myself back when I was a kid, maybe around 2006 or 2007,asking if they would ever return this game, and receiving a disappointing answer basically just saying that they're not planning on it. The game itself is a standard Flash platformer, very common for that era, with some light puzzle elements and very fun, bright and colourful graphics.
I have actually managed to find a listing of the game on the website of the studio which Teletoon contracted out to create the game,Emerging Playgrounds. It has some screenshots of the game and a short video showing gameplay.
Nope, this is not the show, this is something completely different. Roland Blinn is a singer, and this is a tape with a bunch of his music videos on it. One of his songs is called "Max the Cat". Lets try to stay on track, guys,I know there's a lot of different things named "Max the Cat",so we need to take a closer look and make sure that it's actually the show ahead of time...
Oh yeah,I think I know what these are. The MS Paint game is probably Kid Pix,and the typing game is definitely All The Right Type. You can find both of these easily enough with a simple online search
Way back in 2006,I remember being very impressed by the graphics of an online racing game I had played which I believe had used the Macromedia Shockwave player(might be remembering this wrong tho, might have been just plain old Flash. My memory is fuzzy on this). It had fully rendered 3D graphics with textures and everything. Another thing that really impressed me was the length of the track, the track seemed huge, almost neverending. I think it took about 15-20mins just to finish the track, though that might not be correct,it might have felt like it took longer than it actually did haha. The track seemed to mostly pass through a forest, occasionally also passing by some houses and more urban areas. Everything looked great, the background was full of 3D rendered objects with nice textures,I remember the many pine trees you'd pass by looking really good, and also the houses had some really nice textures. I remember you would race a red sports car,and there may have been an option to change the car/colour,but I don't remember seeing one, which is strange. Also,I'm pretty sure that that one really long track was the only track in the game, and once you completed it that was it,you won the game. Thinking about these things,it almost feels like this was some kind of tech demo, what with how there was only 1 track and no apparent option to change your car. Well,if it was a tech demo,it sure wasn't presented as one, because I remember finding it on a normal online game site, just like any other game. Also, keep in mind that this was impressive to me by 2006 web game standards,I don't know if it would be as impressive by today's standards haha.
No,actually,we already know that it made it's debut during September of 1998,not on Treehouse but on YTV,from an article that's already been linked here. We don't know when Treehouse picked it up.
Ah, foot-in-mouth disease strikes again. Sorry.
So at this point, we know:
Name: My Special Book
Starting Airdate: 1998
Ending Airdate: 2006
Companies involved in production: YTV
Aired on: YTV Jr, Treehouse
People known to be involved in the production: [none yet]
Where do we go from here?
Well,I actually have somewhat of an inventive plan for how we can search for this show. Now that we know the time range of when it aired,I say we should look for big events on Treehouse that took place during that time frame that people would have wanted to record, like for example the airing of a movie. There's a pretty high chance that they would have also recorded these filler segments, like My Special Book. The thing is,though, that when uploading these recordings to the net most people tend to edit out these filler segments. We'd have to get really lucky and find a recording where the person was too lazy to edit them out haha. Even if we find one where they have been edited out,we can try contacting the uploader to see if they might still have an unedited copy laying around anywhere, there's always a slim chance that they might. One event that I know took place within that time period is that they aired some Barbie movies,A LOT of people recorded those. Only problem with that is,those Barbie movies also ended up getting a DVD release, which makes finding a Treehouse recording of them a bit harder :/ . It would be better to look for stuff that only aired on TV,and never got a DVD release. Another interesting thing about those Barbie movies is that, from what I've gathered from reading the old Treehouse forums, there was a glitch when one of them aired and the movie cut out randomly about 3/4 of the way in. A lot of parents were really angry about this. Now,I know that a lot of you on here are really into TV glitches/interruptions,so yeah, there you go,that's another TV interruption to look for,if anyone cares about it haha.
It was phased out when Treehouse implemented some major programming changes on September 4th,2006. So yeah,no wonder this show is so hard to come by,it stopped airing a loooong time ago...
How did you get the forums to show up? I just got a "page not archived" when I tried it on the Wayback Machine.
We now know it stopped airing in 2006. Based on the fact the copyright information is not available online, the show must have been registered and likely started airing in 2003-2004. Does that make sense to you guys?

i don't know if it requires any specific programs or anything to play them. all i know is i tried multiple times to play it and it didn't work
Which browser are you using? Have you installed the flash plugin for said browser? Which OS are you on? I'm using the latest Firefox on Ubuntu Linux, with the Flash plugin installed, and the flashes played just fine for me.

Nothing too interesting there, except the comments section("tree boards") was kinda fun to see. We've got someone asking if there's a DVD of the show, way back then, which unfortunately there isn't :/ . We've also got someone saying that their kids love the show but it's difficult to figure out when it's going to come on air. This makes me think that someone out there must have taped some episodes of it,since it aired so sporadically,so they can put the tape on for their kids when they want to see it. As you can see on the first page, the show does actually appear on the schedule, but since it's only 5mins long,it's a "blink and you'll miss it" sort of thing haha. Surely, some parents out there must have gotten tired of having to switch the channel at precisely the right time to catch Max the Cat,and instead taped some episodes to play for their kids over and over.
Yay,you made a thread for Max the Cat . Alright,I'll share everything that I know. Max the Cat was based on the book series of the same name by Adam Whitmore. The concept is that Max is a cat with no tail, and so he travels the world in search of his tail. He gets into adventures and learns about the places he visits along the way. Every episode ended with the phrase "But that's another tale for another time". It wasn't animated, but instead used painted stills, which may have been the illustrations from the books themselves. The voice actor was Aidan Devine, which is interesting because he went on to act in much bigger things later on,like Suicide Squad and American Gothic.
The show was produced by SDA Productions, a Quebecois film production company. The history of this company is tumultuous at best,so I don't have much hope in obtaining the show by contacting them :/ . SDA Productions was first bought out by Coscient Group in 1994. Then in 1999,Coscient Group was bought out by Motion International. In October of 2000,Motion International got bought out by Quebecor and became TVA Films. So yeah, the company has changed hands so many times that I think the chances of them retaining copies of this show are extremely slim .
One thing I don't understand about the guy who published the intro and credits is,if he has the intro and credits, then how come he doesn't have the episode they came from? How can you have the beginning and end of something, but not the middle? That doesn't make sense to me.
This report from 2008 suggests that there were some advertisements on Treehouse. It discusses targeting moms of preschoolers for advertising and is aimed at potential advertisers.
The advertising may have been intercut with shorts to maintain engagement.
That document seems to be about advertisements on the TreehouseTV.com website, not the TV channel. The TV channel didn't have commercials. They had at most one sponsor before a TV show, and that didn't take the form of a commercial.
I remember that Toons and Tunes player in the screenshot though. There probably were some things on there that are lost today. It had a lot of stuff, even full episodes of shows sometimes...
Actually,I remember seeing some ads for Pampers and Huggies on Treehouse, but those came much later, like around 2010. Long after this show stopped airing,so I think it's irrelevant. That Powerpoint is pretty creepy though, the way they're looking to take advantage of kids and moms for advertising, very sneaky and manipulative. This is like the sort of stuff Vance Packard talked about in his book "The Hidden Persuaders".
I found another place where the show was mentioned:http://treehousefaceoff.blogspot.ca/2006_04_16_archive.html
It's a fun little blog in which somebody compares Treehouse shows. The show is mentioned in their list of planned comparisons,it's the last "battle" they were supposed to do: "Postman Pat vs My Special Book". Unfortunately,it seems that they never got around to writing it,because they only got up to "Judy and David's Boombox vs Kleo the Misfit Unicorn" before they called it quits. The posts are pretty fun to read tho haha
Did Julie and David's Boombox air at the same time (years) as My Special Book? You may have hit upon something here; that show wasn't on the schedule either, but I remember it clearly. There are clips online, so the credits of the show might help us figure out who was making these shows.
Yes,Judy and David's Boombox did air at the same time, but I don't think there's any connection between the two shows. Judy and David are a famous Canadian husband and wife duo kids band,"Boombox" was simply showcasing their music,it didn't have anything to do with My Special Book.
