That error is infamous in the logo community because it only appeared on the Wet Painters/Krusty Krab Training Video episode during split screen credits until around 2006 when they finally fixed it.
Rumours about it circulated online for years but it took a while for footage to surface because the user that originally posted it was apparently scared of the logo.
That makes sense, as I noticed that the Krusty Krab Training Video episode ending played before both those credits I linked. Thanks for sharing that. It’s crazy it took until around 2006 to get fixed.
Yeah, I remember reading that it was fixed in 2006. Oddly enough, the same year you mentioned seeing the foghorn version.
I THINK I remember seeing this playing on tv on a Spanish public TV channel called Clan and I remember seeing it quite often, I in fact don't remember the seagulls with the logo of plankton united pictures until starting seeing some chapters in English. I asked a friend about it and without knowing on this search he says he also remembers it. There's the possibility it's from a DVD release but I'm almost sure I didn't see any SpongeBob DVDs at the time, which btw was around 2014-2018, I'm going to search for it on the website of the channel and on recordings of the channel, I'll update on this if I find something.

This is a very interesting claim, at face value this could be a huge lead for finding proof of the variant. Especially with these specific details of an airdate and channel. Sourcing recordings might be possible with a trail like this.
I will say though, this does give me slight "Squidward transforming only happened in the Polish airing" vibes but maybe that's just me. It's worth looking into no matter what.
I also think it would be an insane coincidence that such a rare piece of US lost media like this somehow ended up in Spain long after the episode originally aired. It would be a great example to check everywhere before debunking, if it ends up being true.

I know it sounds weird that something like that ended on international dubs, but we remember it so vividly and we are so familiar with it that it would be very weird to me that this was a misremembering from me and my friend. There's the possibility of this being a misremembering and it is huge but I personally don't believe that's the case.
Also, this is NOT a fake lead, or at least not on purpose, I know that an user with just one post and claiming seeing it air on an Spanish channel is weird, but I'm being 100% honest and I really want this found.
The few channel rips I looked at cut the credits and I don't have much time myself, but I'll get to it as soon as I've got more time to do it, if you want to start doing something, I would look on some pirate streaming/torrent sites with Spanish content(at your own risk), I would also encourage you to not look specifically for the channel, but for the language dubs themselves, as it could come directly from there, so also DVDs and nick spain, as credits didn't run on the channel quite often.
Update: After talking with my friend he only recalls seeing the credits on Nick, and he is ultra sure that the credits NEVER aired on the public channel so nothing there, but the dates stay like we stated. I recall seeing the credits but maybe it was on some DVD/Nick, I recall clearly seeing it at my home, where we didn't have cable nor SpongeBob DVDs, but maybe it was on some especial airing, so yeah, nick channel rips or DVDs should be the safest option to make the search
I just got around to watching LSuperSonicQ’s latest SpongeBob lost media video from 2 weeks ago and a lot of people in the comments recall the foghorn version.

You can’t trust random comments unless they have actual proof. These types of situations often boil down to people simply misremembering something/Mandela effect/collective false memory
