Gormiti: Il Grande Inganno (lost original dub of the short)

I vaguely remember having a DVD about a CGI Gormiti Cartoon that my dad probably ripped from some obscure lost site. When I was a kid Gormiti were my favorite thing, but the only things I remember are 1) being not very impressed by the short and 2) one of the characters being voiced by Pietro Ubaldi.
I don't know if we are talking about the same cartoon, but I should still have the DVD somewhere.

I was a big Gormiti fan too back in the days, and just like you, I'm also bugged by the fact that there is official Italian translation of the "Grande Inganno" short movie.

I know that those shorts were not really good, both in story (the story in the comics was much better) and graphics/production, but it is really strange that this short is missing altogether, especially since back in the days the brand was strong and they already gave other shorts attached to the old Gormiti Magazine, including the "Seconda Serie" one (the prequel of "Grande Inganno") which used the same character models and engine as "Grande Inganno".

There is only one other Gormiti short that was never dubbed in Italian, being "The Legends Begins", but that has an explaination as to why it never came to Italy, as it was a remake of the "Prima Serie" story but for those markets (like the USA one) that received a different kind of "Prima Serie". Although I would have loved to have that dubbed in Italian as well.

My only guess is that when they produced "Grande Inganno", the "Atomic" series (the series whose story is depicted inside "Grande Inganno") was at its sunset, as in Italy they were already preparing for the release of the next waves, so they probably deemed non necessary to dub it in Italian and they directly shipped it to the foreign markets that were instead lagging behind in terms of released waves.

To have a proper answer I think we should ask to "Giochi Preziosi" themselves (the Gormiti creators and right-holders), or those that worked on the short movies and/or Magazine (whose names should be inside the Magazines and dvd credits).

To be honest, at least there wasn't actually any plot hole there, even excluding "Grande Inganno", as the next short begins with a summary of it, so those people who did not read the comics and only watched the shorts at least had a rough idea of what happened in between.
Now that I'm talking about it, I wonder if that summary was placed in there because they knew we would have not got "Grande Inganno".

Anyway, some of those people who worked on that stuff are still around and maybe they are even active online. We should scan through the old magazines and the dvd credits to find some names though. I'm contacting right now a person who has the original dvds of "Grande Inganno" and "The Legend Begins", in order to get some names and maybe some other clue as well.

Actually I have the DVDs myself. I'll post here the names that appear in the credits tomorrow or Monday
