I guess the speed shift seems realistic for nightcore... but from my experience with nightcore, doesn't an increase of eight semitones (one major sixth) seem a little much for nightcore? Most nightcore songs I've listened to only go up about a minor third (3 semitones) or a major third (4 semitones)

not saying the song in the ytp is nightcore, just that the slowed down/pitched version sounds like a song that would have been made into nightcore, meaning it could’ve been memetic. also, people who meme nightcore usually exaggerate the editing.
The style of music, to me, sounds like it would be menu music from a late 90s or early 00s Japanese-made arcade racing or fighting game. But it's just a feeling.

He hasn't been active on any of them since July, unfortunately. He has uploaded recent YT videos, and I tried asking him about it in the comments, but everything I ask keeps getting auto deleted (with or without links). I'm not even sure if his channel is still owned by him right now, it might have been compromised.
Alright, I asked on the DDR subreddit, and someone raised the possibility of this being a remix of "Under the Scarlet Moon" (which itself is a remix of U.N. Owen Was Her).
And I have to say, things seem pretty compelling. At the drop there's this configuration of synthesizer 16th notes which do in fact closely resemble it. Except it's slightly off. (Will provide sheet music examples this afternoon to illustrate.)
I looked at all these remixes from the remix album CDs 1 and 2 (https://youtu.be/v5_J5ATGT4g, youtu.be/I0xP_HJeDGc), but alas, none of them seem to match.
Still haven't ruled out the possibility of the sample being from some other popular Scarlet Moon remix that's not in the remix album, though.
