What lost media simply isn't worth the effort?

For the 3rd one, I can sorta agree with(unless they had some interesting differences, especially if there are a LOT of differences), but the others, not so much.

A Day With SpongeBob, for what its worth, had a completely batcrap insane backstory behind it that made it kinda fun to just watch the whole thing unfold. Sure, what we have of it isn't much as it never really existed, but does it really matter? Heck, if anything, that really adds to the whole surreal feeling behind it(though I do wish it were real)!

As for lost dubs, well, there ARE a few out there that people want to see & personally, unless said English dub sucks(like say, 4Kids One Piece) or if the masters of said dub are long gone, then making a new dub would be kind of a waste of time. Even still, they CAN be interesting in my opinion, with their weird voice direction, some unexpected changes to the script, entirely original theme songs(Italy is based for having such awesome dub theme songs), their absolutely bonkers backstories, etc. For me, I really just love wondering what some shows would sound like in different languages & seeing stuff about some of the changes & whatnot that dubs can have are a treat to see. I CONSTANTLY browse The Dubbing Database for that reason & heck, for possible other dubs of some really obscure shows, I might consider using Google Translate to see if perhaps I could find any documentation of a dub or voice-over in that language.

Plus, a few of the lost English dubs I've been interested in are either not well documented online(especially if they only aired in a few countries in places like Southeast Asia or the Caribbean) or are for media that are still lost in their original language(especially since the companies behind the original shows could be LONG DEFUNCT at this point & thus it can be hard to figure out who owns the rights to these shows), & quite a few dubs I've been researching are in both categories! Also, there are some lost dubs out there that are in languages & dialects that aren't all too commonly heard in dubbing, such as Lao, Somali, North Korean(I made a thread about this as well), Dzongkha, etc. & THOSE can't be easily replaced you know! Or how about the fact that, oftentimes, this was sorta how such media became big in other countries. In Latin America, well made Spanish dubs of anime got anime to become a HUGE sensation long before the USA would get the likes of Dragon Ball Z & Sailor Moon, & the same kinda goes for places like France, Spain, Germany & Italy. This was because they would air on national TV as opposed to just being some direct-to-video or premium cable thing & thus more people from within those countries could watch it. And in the case of Latin America, their Spanish dubs were usually uncut, so they were able to have a MUCH more acceptive opinion on dubs compared to us Americans, who dealt with a whole lotta censorship because of TV guides being a bunch of buttholes.

Sorry for the long tangent, I just feel like I needed to do an "in defense of lost dubs" thing because what you said felt like something you'd hear from someone who doesn't understand how distributing media worked back in the days... & I wasn't even born around that time(Gen Z mofo)!

Personally I rather like 4Kids dubs and think most of them are legit good(i'll gladly take them over the more faithful and boring dubs we get nowadays like the new version of Sailor Moon with lousy voive-direction where all the VAs sound bored as hell). Still hoping those lost dubbed F-Zero episodes show up one of these days.

Lost political stuff due to how toxic that can get & people overall getting real sick & tired of hearing about politics because of how much of that drama has been becoming a heated & overblown subject on the internet. If you know what happened in a recent thread, you know. If not, GOOD(same goes for another thread we must never name). I've been trying to keep a thread about LGBT+ lost media I made to be more about the media & culture rather than the politics for this very reason. I know CarbonFreeze would be willing to talk about such stuff, but for the sake of other users' sanity, I ain't gonna let her go all political on that thread I made. I know she's an moderator, I don't care. I may have mental issues, but I at least know when to shut my mouth... for the most part.

I know this really isn't on-topic, but there was a news article about baseball players receiving threatening messages from sports gamblers who lost money on a bad performance from them. Some of these threats were credible.

I  feel lost food people are focusing on all the wrong aspects. They should be focusing on the lost RECIPES for said foods.
