Yes I hope he comes back. The having fun part makes me think part of it is Mandela effect, since I don't think in a MLB game they would do that. I think it could be one of these options: 1. Mandela effect (Maybe it was something else but OP misremembered details) 2. It wasn't a baseball game, but somewhere else (maybe at school or something; again it would be misremembered) 3. Unofficial Content (not from MLB)
Would it be possible to get contact with someone that works/worked at MLB at the alleged time of the promotion to ask if they remember anything? Also, I think it would be a good idea for OP to ask the people who went with him to the baseball game (Since the first post said that he was with family and friends) to see if they remember this Spongebob animation? This could help if they have more details or it confirms this as Mandela effect.
Honestly I believe OP saw something Spongebob related at a ball game, and that it isn't necessarily Mandela effect. But yeah all we can do it wait for OP to respond.
I don't think it is Mandela exactly, maybe just some misremembered details. soupnerd can help us in the search once he comes back. For now, this search I think is at a stand still

I know we're waiting for OP, but this just popped up in my head. Could any of us just shoot Tom Kenny a question on whether or not he did voice work for a Spongebob baseball video? Or could we even just ask someone at Nickelodeon who would know about that? When we were researching the Cartoon Network Subway commercials, someone sent an email to Cartoon Network about it, and even though they had no clue (different marketing team I'm sure), I imagine a big property like Spongebob would be kept track of better. Just a thought, especially if OP can't recall entirely.

That would be a good idea. I could do that when I free up in an hour, if I can find Tom Kenny's contact infos

Ok, did some digging. Found a bunch of scam websites for contacts, but also some real things:
This is his Twitter, but it seems to be inactive There is also this IMDB page, but you need to pay to see the contact info.
I think it would be best to contact Nickelodeon, but should we contact using the general Nick Contact Us page or find someone that worked at the company at the time?

We can try the general and see what is said, maybe they can at least give us a time frame when Spongebob was used for MLB events? Since they were doing that summer tour with MLB teams and Nickelodeon night pretty recently, theres a good chance they'll know what we're talking about. Just asking "how long has Nickelodeon been involved with Major League Baseball?" would help us somewhat determine if what OP saw was minor league or not. That was the one thing I couldn't figure out, it was the "when" they started doing these things. Also if Spongebob was officially used in stuff for ball games.

I just contacted Nickelodeon with the general contact us page. Used the email on the page tho since the contact form wasn't loading for me. Asked about how long Nick has been partnered with MLB and if Spongebob was used in promo material during ball games. Will update when I get a reply

Well, this escalated faster than I expected it too. I apologize for not responding sooner, as I am not used to coming to the LMW forums and such. I did some digging on what the baseball stadium in particular was, and I'm still gonna have to do some more digging. I know for a fact that it was in Dallas, Texas. I have one photo, though.
The fact that this stadium is a smaller stadium and was more than likely a minor league and not the majors has led me to believe that it was done unofficially. On the other hand, before they played the short, they did play a small amount of the show's intro, starting with Painty the Pirate and everything. I'm gonna have to ask other people who were there that day to see if they remember anything else. I did do a bit on research on this last year and actually found the stadium on Instagram, but I forgot its name.
Also, hi LSSQ! It's great to see you're in on this search too. Love your vids!

Thank you for replying! I think this might in fact be a minor league game now due to the new information you wrote, but I think you might have to find the stadium that matches the look of that photo to confirm first. I might do some more digging if I have time

Hey thanks soupnerd glad you're a fan! I'm always down for a good SpongeBob mystery and so far this one has not disappointed.
It's great you were able to find a picture of the stadium and confirm it was minor league, this makes things way more interesting in my opinion. Keep us updated with the other people you ask and if you can find the name of the stadium.
While I'm sure it'll still be difficult finding someone who is knowledgeable about promotional material from the league, it won't be impossible!

Also a fan here. Go by a different name on YT tho. Have been loving your content since I first watched your Super Gameboy 2 video.
I have a feeling the email I contacted Nickelodeon with (feedback@nick.com) might be dead, since I haven't gotten a response, but that probably will no longer matter because this is minor league. soupnerd, could you possible check your browser history to see if you can re-find the page? I tried to look up stadiums in Dallas, Texas but couldn't find much

I did a little digging and based off what OP said about finding them originally on instagram and them being from Dallas area it could 1 of 2 stadiums.
AirHogs Stadium of the Texas AirHogs in Grand Prairie, Texas
Or
Dr Pepper Ballpark (formerly Dr Pepper/Seven Up Ballpark) of the Frisco RoughRiders in Frisco, Texas
It seems to be the Dr Pepper Ballpark based on cross referencing images of the stadium to the picture OP posted and although both are in the Dallas area, AirHogs Stadium was not open until 2007 while Dr Pepper Ballpark opened in 2003 which fits the time of 2005
