i dont think that clip is the real deal. it seems like a reenactment, mostly because her body just topples over instead of being knocked back a bit, which im pretty sure it should be shoved a least a little, considering she fired at point blank range. plus theres no visible damage to her head, not even blood. but that might be from the bad quality of the clip.
im gonna take that video with the biggest grain of salt until we discover anything new about it.
Christ almighty, that is a pretty damn good re-enactment. Gotta find the source of this. Have messaged NationSquid via a number of methods, will let you know what he says. I feel like this could actually be real, it's pretty darn convincing... Gunna remain levelheaded and not get too optimistic though, until we hear more info.
Even down to the joint in the desk between "News" and "Watch"...
The distortion in the tape looks a little artificial to me - though I do a lot of work with off-air recordings created by TV channels themselves and can confirm that is a genuine typical timecode from the time for an off-air done by the station.

Remember that it has been in storage for upwards of 40 years, so I don't think it'd be uncommon to see that much distortion.
i will say he has more footage of her than i have seen online otherwise in the video and i thought the show was suncoast digest which was a talk show of all things

The other footage he used was unearthed in Kate Plays Christine.
I decided to break the video down into single frames at max quality/resolution so that we can better examine it. If anyone wants a copy, the ~750 frames can be obtained here (be warned, it's like 300mb):

Hi all I was in a hurry when I posted that last night.
Haven't really had time to examine. Given the lack of provencance the video received (end of a YT compilation clip) I'm guessing it's a re enactment. I'll be joining the op's forum, which is brand new and has no content yet, to find out what I can.
I wonder if this may be a deleted scene from the recent movie. Looking forward to getting to the bottom of it, whatever it is.
The way she falls is so unnatural... not even necessarily in a "this is fake" way, just in a "that is fucking disgusting" way. Is it just me, or does it almost look like her head came off? Obviously that's not what happened, but they way it falls immediately onto the desk and stays there stationary for a second while the rest of her body slowly twists around is repulsive. I can't even visualize what that would look like without the distortion.

After speaking to several people (namely Rick Klein of FuzzyMemories.TV), I am now leaning towards it being fake. Time will tell for sure, I suppose.
Out of curiosity, what did he say that makes you think that?
"It just seems fake for a lot of little reasons. I'd be willing to bet money it's fake. I could spend more time trying to prove it but it's not worth it right now. For one thing though, that CG "timecode" wouldn't have been used for a local program. Also, they wouldn't have been on such a wide shot showing the entire desk. And the body did not drop to the floor in real life - at least not that quickly from what I recall. I recommend pulling up that old Washington Post (I believe it was) article that gave a very detailed account of what the event looked like on screen - I have a feeling you will find lots of incongruities. (Screen went to black, not a tech. Difficulties slide for one)
This video is "impressive" only in the amount of detail they attempted to get it authentic looking. But I abhor fakes created just to steal away people's attention and garner view counts. Notice now on the YouTube page they are not answering anyone's questions about whether it's real or not? And yet they take time to answer everyone else's question or respond to a comment."
Dude has had a lot of experience archiving old TV so I'm inclined to take his word for it (the part about the timecode and the camera zoom at least). I'm still keeping an open mind though.

Thanks to Dycaite for pointing out the seam similiarities.
I took some time to find some other similarities between the archived photo and a screenshot of the video I found. The 'backboards' both have rounded corners. Position of the chair's back seems consistent. Same angle on the letter 'C' in newswatch font.
What seems absent is the two coffee cups pictured in the original photo.
The thing I find very curious is the shot itself. Viewing at slow motion reveals her falling to the side and down, but I'm sure it was described that Christine hit the desk before falling.
There is also the curious wear on the tape at the time of shooting. A proponent of a hoax would say that the wear was added to mask inconsistencies in the production. A proponent of the tape being real might argue, "the tape is worn at that spot from continuous viewing and rewinding. Any vhs tapehead can tell you that lol"
Once again, I am not advocating that this is real, or a hoax. It's something that I feel needs further investigation.
