Nickelodeon Australia (Major Programming Outage)

Wow this is quite a topic, also sent a thing to see the outage document if anyone hosted it

I think this is my favorite search on this forum. I usually think we focus too heavily on Nickelodeon and general kids content but this is so insanely bizarre. That this major outage happened very recently but little information exists, that the we've got a problem card is very unprofessional but actually aired and that it lasted so long. The background of this might interest me more then the lost media itself

I think all the twitter posts are proof at this point that it happened, Nick Australia will probably never come back to us since they usually don't respond to emails and whoever does probably doesn't even know about this. We can continue to find sources but I feel we should start trying to track down a video of this.

The next step we can do is either contact the individuals who made the tweets and see what they have (which is unlikely that they even remember, let alone have footage) or search on other sites for posts hoping they posted a clip. I don't have a Facebook so I can't check there but if any of you do that might be a great place to start.

And to go off what viggers said, he told me that the we've got a problem card aired in between each airing of Spongebob, not just at the beginning. Plus the card was all that was shown saying they had a problem, no animation or anything. Also, even though he posted his image I'm going to repost here for reference

I realize that my last post is a bit of a hodge podge of tweets, so if anyone wants to find them in the way that I did here's how: type into twitter search bar "technical difficulties nickelodeon" and scroll down until you get to around Dec 21 and 22 2013 and most of them should be there.

I also found this tweet mentioning the ordeal, but referring to Foxtel instead of nickelodeon. I believe I found this one by typing "technical difficulties spongebob." 

So I took the seventeen tweets found and arranged the times, and had them calculated out. Sixteen tweets cover the time span of  8 hours, 30 minutes . Adding the last tweet that's a bit of an outlier for being 2 days, 16 hours, 53 minutes after the previous tweet, they cover the time of 3 days, 1 hour, 23 minutes!? Either I'm bad at typing stuff in or I'm missing something. Maybe they're only referencing it?

Edit: wait... would Catfish be shown on Nickelodeon? I may have messed up with that new tweet...

Guys, I don't know how it's possible but this might have got weirder.

I was thinking about the tweets lilyofthevalley provided and some of it didn't make sense. The separate tweet on the 24th is bizarre but is probably someone recounting it. What got me is the Catfish tweet. That show is aired by fellow Viacom channel MTV, but it's a show about people faking being someone while online dating, no way that would air on Nickelodeon. So it got me thinking, did MTV Australia have a outage around the same time?

According to tweets, it appears so.

Out of all the tweets I quickly found (seen here and here) mentioning Catfish not airing over several hours, the one that interests me most is this one. Going with the previous Nickelodeon tweet that mentioned Catfish, is it possible that, at some point, the entirety of Viacom Australia had a major failure and all of their channels played the Spongebob loop with the weird unprofessional "We've Got A Problem" card?

I hope I'm not creating an accidental false trail by doing this... but the Foxtel thing fascinated me. I looked the Foxtel technical problems around the time and I found these.

A part of me is wondering if this wasn't Nick Australia, but Nick Australia on the Foxtel service. Was Foxtel cleaning up some major problems?

viggers, did you have Foxtel as your television provider in 2013?

That's interesting since most Aussies now use Telstra (like OSFirstTimer). Not Foxtel. Which could be why we're hearing about this 4-5 years after.
