I know for a fact it was well before 2013. Most likely even before 2007. There’s enough people that seem to remember it to verify it’s existence.
Do you remember anything that came BEFORE the Molly logo? You said it was silent, so I'm wondering if you caught the copyright information or credits that appeared before the logo. Remembering what was shown after the logo can also be useful or an indication on what season or episode it could have appeared on.

I've been checking the closings on the VHS releases of 'Big Comfy Couch' and I got no luck so far. I'm not too sure if the Molly variant even existed on a VHS print at all.
Yeah I don’t believe it exists on VHS, I was little at the time so I never really paid attention to the copyrights. More so the logos at the end.
That makes sense. Do you remember seeing the Owl Television logo (the one that many say that it's creepy) or the Owl Communications logo after the Radical Sheep "Molly" logo? Which one rings a bell more? If you saw the Owl Television logo, then we would place it anywhere between S1-S2. If you saw the Owl Communications logo, we would place it anywhere between S3-S4. Anything after S4 would not include any Owl logo whatsoever.
Then again, you do remember the variant being silent, so it is likely to be a S1 episode and it would have the Owl Television logo and 1991-1993 YTV logo with rainbow trails or the 1995-2007 YTV logo that plasters the original logos on the Treehouse airings. For YTV airings, they either kept the original logos or they were plastered as well. I am not so sure because I never watched 'Big Comfy Couch' on YTV, I've only watched this show on Treehouse TV.

I don’t remember the logo combo unfortunately, my memory could easily be wrong about it being silent, there’s really no way to know for sure until it’s found. On a side note I was one of those people who used to think the Owl Television logo was creepy.

Yeah, surprisingly it didn't feel unsettling for me when I was little. Depending on how long ago you've seen the logo, I can understand on why you're not able to remember the logo combo. I remember the logo combo pretty vividly, but we're talking about the logo combo for the episode with the Molly logo lol.
I've been looking all over the internet for more information about the variant, but there doesn't seem to be anything else. In that reconstruction video, clearly there are people who remember it the same way. As someone who does not remember this, it is still really cool to see how many people can have memories in common.
Remember those Big Comfy Couch episodes that were treehouse airings and were uploaded a long while back? I can't seem to find those anymore, but I do not remember the Molly variant being in those videos either, unfortunately. There is also no details to when did the Molly variant stop popping up on the reruns of both YTV Jr. and Treehouse airings.

You know what I just realized? The episodes that were uploaded by 'THE BIG COMFY COUCH' do not always show all of the content. For example, the end credits are sometimes cut off, and that would be the end of the video. Now we're not too sure if the episodes that were cut off, even had the Molly variant intact.
I found another way to check, which is on the tubitv.com website. Compared to the episodes from 'THE BIG COMFY COUCH' channel, this one has everything. Anyone can feel free to double check the episodes from this website. The problem is that this is from FilmRise Kids prints, and we already checked these a while back. This is the only website that has all of the episodes and seasons without having to pay. The good news is that it contains all the content, including the end credits and closing logos.
EDIT: Nope, I checked on the tubitv.com website. No Molly variant in sight. It's the same FilmRise Kids print we get every single time, so I should've known about this and anticipated. Even if I check Amazon Prime or vudu.com, it's just going to be the exact same DVD/FilmRise Kids print we typically see on the internet. The only way to find these is on YTV Jr. airings and POSSIBLY early Treehouse airings of the show.

That's some good legwork Randy. Man, I wish I could contribute. I only saw the later seasons of Comfy Couch. One thing is for sure this Molly variant is gonna be a pain to find. Are VHS tapes the only way to access early airings, since no one's posted it online?

Honestly, I doubt that the Molly variant made an appearance on a 'Big Comfy Couch' VHS tape at one point. Someone has a full VHS collection of The Big Comfy Couch, so I wonder if they know or are aware of the variant that MIGHT have appeared on their VHS. I'll probably try and ask them. I remember someone saying that they saw it on a PBS Kids airing, so that's another person to ask. We'll see if they really remember it.
Possibly, but many other people seem to remember the Molly variant, so it's likely that it's not a myth. It could also explain the thousands of people who viewed this forum. There's no new information or images/videos at the moment, so I'm not even sure at this point. I also don't know who to contact, so we'll see if we can go further with this forum.

I remember there used to be a thread about it on CLG Wiki so that adds to the fact multiple people remember it. This has happened many times in the past with logos such as TAT, Blue Marble, green Key Video, etc with people remembering a logo rumored to exist which was finally found years later. It might have not even appeared on Big Comfy Couch but possibly some sort of Radical Sheep Special (If such a thing exists), or a promo reel of some sort.

Oh hey, I remember there being a thread about it on CLG wiki, too bad it was taken down. And yeah, what if the logo never appeared on Big Comfy Couch... There's a possibility that it never did, but I can't really jump to conclusions. Anyway, if it was really used in a 'special' then this 'special' should be produced and released to air before 2000, as they started using a different logo during that year. Even a show produced by Radical Sheep Productions could have it. I'll have to investigate even further then...

The only special I found from Radical Sheep Productions was Ruffus the Dog's Christmas Carol, but the logo was nowhere to be seen. I checked every episode from Ruffus the Dog, and all of the episodes that had the Radical Sheep Productions logo were short and no sign of Molly anywhere. I really wanted to check Panda Bear Daycare, but the only footage found on YouTube is just a VHS tape of it, which is the 2001 VHS of Panda Bear Daycare: Let's Count 1-2-3!. It features the same Radical Sheep Productions logo as Big Comfy Couch with the "Baa!" sound effect and same music.
TL;DR: The Molly variant isn't found in any specials and shows at the moment, but I hope more footage of Panda Bear Daycare gets found too, so that I can check.

Then again, look how many people thought Sinbad's "Shazam" existed. Maybe we're in a parallel universe.
