Not that the concept of a "Pokemon movie" is dead, but the last "true" Pokemon movie released in 2020. Since I've been behind in the Pokemon movies for years now, I had no idea that this was the case. Might just be on hiatus due to the brand new series with new main chars and/or because of the release of Detective Pikachu in 2019 but STILL.

The Disney Store in most places in the United States (only a handful of locations still exist). Disney stuff stills sells well today (I know, as I work retail), so it's sad that the pandemic caused the shutdown of most locations.

From what I saw Disney Stores were already well on their way out before then as the idea of going to a dedicated merch store was falling by the wayside after the likes of Amazon decreased foot traffic to those kinds of stores. Warner Bros also used to have their own merch stores in the late 90s and 2000s and they eventually all closed down, if anything i'm surprised Disney didn't close down most of their stores sooner.
I remember when I was a kid the Safeways in my area used to have a serving booth that consists of their "Signature Cafe" brand soups in the deli area.
Over the years when my family moved to a different neighborhood, we didn't go to Safeway as often. I am going to assume the pandemic unfortunately got rid of those booths. But at least the soup isn't discontinued. God I hope not.

</div>I don't consider the "I choose you" Trilogy to be "True Pokémon" movies per say. It's trapped in it's own fanfiction esque bubble in my opinion. Which would make the last "True" one (Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel) to have been released in 2016.Nearly 10 years ago.

I remember reading about the WB store in several old Animaniacs-related threads. I even own a Wakko plush they sold (I was too young to have actually gone there, I got it off a Mercari listing).

Even though I'm not the biggest fan of Disney today, this still makes me extremely sad. I just DON'T like buying everything online the way others prefer to. I like the experience of going to physical stores for most of my stuff. I did see at least one outlet mall in my neck of the woods that DID have a physical Disney store, but sadly no giant stuffed animal pile anymore, and the store seems half the size of a normal mall one. I mean, it's something I guess :/

I was surprised to see that the Super Smash Bros. webcomic Everyone is Home had stopped because of the creator's loss of motivation. I was already thinking it was starting to run out of ideas and become less interesting as a result, especially around the time where the first part of the "A Christmas Warol" mini-arc was released.

A weird case here of "actually it wasn't 100% dead, but it is now."
Like many here, I just assumed that K-Mart had fully closed all their stores after bankruptcy years back. But apparently there was STILL ONE K-Mart up in NY...annnnddddddd its closure was just announced as of a few days ago. I don't think we are going to get another "the final Blockbuster in the USA that is still hanging on" situation here but who knows.
