A lot of video game magazines too. There's so many i'm surprised are no longer a thing(Gamepro, Nintendo Power, EGM, Official Xbox and Playstation, etc) Gameinformer is now pretty much the only "game" in town as far as those go(pun very much intended)
I actually remember the final issue of Nintendo Power! Bizarrely enough, I think I wasn't even subscribed anymore, but I STILL remember it. I think I'm mixing up the final issue with that issue where they ranked their personal favorite games of all time (which in itself FELT like a finale). And yeah, I read EVERY gaming magazine I could get my hands on-Electronic Gaming Monthly, Playstation, GamePro, GameNow, Nintendo Power, etc. I'd even read Tips and Tricks even if 99.99999% of the information was completely useless to me. Nintendo Power is the only one I ever formally subscribed too though (I'd say EGM had the most impact on me besides NP, but NP had the most direct effect on my life). Didn't know that GameInformer was still around! I could have sworn I've seen Playstation magazines around fairly recently, but pretty much they aren't actually.
Yes they are still around, I used to get issues with my Gamestop Powerup Rewards membership though it's been a few years since I got one(I think maybe you need to be a higher membership tier then the one i'm currently on).
Nickelodeon magazine. Since I still see Highlights and other kids magazines for sale, I just sort of thought this one was still around too? But nope. Last issue was published 2009. Might still have articles online, but actual physical issues are no more.
I remember the Nick Jr. magazines. But I have no idea what happened to the ones I had.
I'm surprised trollz 2005 never got popular again. especially with the amount of Bratz nostalgia these days
Oh yeah, I was definitely "too old" when there was that revival, but I DO remember it. I think it aired on CBS Saturday morning at some point? I did find the art bizarrely appealing anyway, I was just a sucker for stuff advertised in my "kiddo magazines" (haha) And yeah, plus the fact that the Trolls WERE successfully revived with the Dreamworks movies (and its music, spinoffs, etc.), you would THINK that there would be some craze around the 2005 version. I've also noticed a LOT of mid 00s nostalgia recently, yet I think I've only seen 1-2 reviewers actually talk about it in any depth?
The wave of massive nostalgia for 2004-2006 seems pretty recent. Give it a little more time and we'll see more discussions of it in-depth.
As for why Trollz 2005 never got revived but Bratz did, it's simple.
Bratz was always more popular. It was the OG "Barbie Killer" when it debuted and while the Trolls have the Dreamworks franchise going for it, it more or less "crowded out" any potential of a revival of the 2005 Trollz line.

I remember getting a McDonald's toy of the blonde girl (either Trina or Sophia) during a visit to my grandparents' house and brought up to my cousin how it reminded me of her because of her blonde hair. My relatives including her laughed about my silly compliment lol.

Oh wow, that's a blast from the past. My family had a subscription but then they got "too liberal," so my parents stopped subscribing LOL. TBH, I don't know if my sibling would have been interested much longer anyway. We were already super deep into the regular Nickelodeon magazine by that time.

The choice between either magazine was probably not too tense compared to Doritos vs Lays.
Dreams are boundless, imaginations are infinite, space is a multi-directional spiral & Akazukin ChaCha is my favorite anime

Except Tinkerbell, which is mostly 2008ish nostalgia but still seems to be mega popular on Youtube. Guess that franchise just left a MAJOR impact. I do agree that Bratz simply had a more "noticeable" style than Barbie, which even to me as a kid came across as kind of bland. I could also see the point about Dreamworks media having the opposite effect for the franchise and "replacing" the 2005 version instead of reviving it. My younger relatives already associate Trolls with the modern movies now! I don't think they even KNOW about the original toys or the 2005 version.

Not anymore:(
I think the fan revival of nintendo power is still going though, but as far as "official" magazines go they are all dead.
The opposite of this thread , what was something you were shocked isn't still around. For me, I was surprised of the removal and cancellation of various reboots and remakes on Paramount Plus such as Blues Clues and You, iCarly (2021) and Rugrats (2021). Not only because they are remakes/reboots of some of Nick's most popular shows but also because two of them were highly successful and popular. Why get rid of shows that are bringing you money?
Radio stations that have call in requests, and played more than the same 5 songs.

I am not surprised. We DO live in a corporate, capitalist world after all.

Some of my local stations actually do have call ins and they do play songs other then the popular stuff.

Just learned today that Microsoft Sharepoint Designer is gone, with the last version released in 2013. No idea how I didn't know that but TBF, I guess it was kind of archaic even when I used it in my education so many years ago. I found it pretty user friendly, so part of me is kinda sad.
