We are ranging from literal young teenagers to olden in our retirement age and everywhere in between. We all have a passion for finding lost media, figuring out how to preserve media and the general community behind it. I often see various users who come across sharp, disrespectful, rude and even downright annoying to others. We all come from different backgrounds as well. Imagine if we were all in a huge room talking to each other in person about our interests? Would we still be distasteful to each other in person? Would we be more reserved? Would we raise our voices in sharpness? I think an issue that has been with the internet in general since forever has been the perceived protection and safety of being behind a computer screen mashing away at our keyboards and treating others without any consequence. I hope this one day stops, but social media has encouraged this disruptive interaction with nonstop debating strangers and it just carries over into forums like this sometimes. I notice some users on here have passions for various topics and lost media within the community and could be perceived as annoying or immature to others. I personally find it unique to see all of us with different experience and skill sets coming together for good. So let's just remind ourselves why we are here. Let's remind ourselves not everyone is our age, not everyone is equally as privileged as we may be. Not everyone's first language is English. And many of us could have unique disabilities that can come across in varying ways. The less criticizing and being sharp with each other, the better.

This isn't towards the lost media community persay, but I have become convinced that there's not enough focus one locating and finding digital art, including stuff that was uploaded to sites such as Twitter and Deviantart.

Not enough focus on archiving sites in general. I only see an effort once it becomes too late and the site is in major decline. That's simply not enough time to archive content. Too many people still have the mindset that every website is permanent or the next website will totally fix the issues of the last ones when time and time again that is shown to be untrue.
No matter how hard I try to actually get help looking for lost media, it's just ignored. It sucks.

But also I have super niche interests, so finding people who are half as interested in cornball horror movies and obscure historical content is like finding hay in a needle stack... erm, needle in a haystack. Hit the nail right on the head here. Knowing how people on the Internet are, I doubt they'll really stop. Once you're anonymous behind a computer screen, you become a completely different person. I like seeing all of the different lost media searches people come up with, whether it's a personal thing of theirs or something that others than just them remember but can't find anything of. Lost media comes in all shapes and sizes, which is why I love it so much. It gets messy, but that doesn't stop me.

Also on topic there isn't even that good of archival in this very wiki. There are unfortunate articles which have videos that have been privated or removed. There should be better care to ensure permanence in the LMW. Thankfully, I have seen more attempts on more permanence in recent findings, but I still think there should be a greater effort on archiving stuff that isn't new.

It's not just that, but there have been intense arguments over the pettiest things ever.
We're not here to find the cure to cancer or write some type of magnum opus - we're here to find stuff from our childhoods that hasn't been seen for a long time generally speaking.
So many threads where the conversation eventually devolves into name-calling, squabbling, etc. and for what? I love lost media but there are far more important issues out there.

I absolutely agree with you. If only someone or some group of people can create archive sites like Furarchiver that can find and recovered deleted art and videos and also preserve everything that was ever uploaded to various sites like Deviantart, Twitter, and YouTube.

I know that feeling too, feels like not many people are interested in trying to track down the kind of lost stuff i'm personally interested in.

Yeah we're in the same boat.
I'm not one to say I "hate" a specific category of lost media, because I do believe that all "lost media" has value, and that what we think is important depends on what we were exposed to when we were young. What is important lost media to an 80s kid (remember when they were our teachers and parents? remember when they made up most of the internet discourse?) may be different to what's important lost media to a 2000s kid.
But damn, I have to admit I find it annoying when a lot of "active" lost media searches are for YouTube videos from the late 2010s. Or the search for the lost Super Mario 64 jumpscare video. I get that some people are nostalgic for that era of internet, but it's not like it was something extremely important. It wasn't a series that aired back in the day or a movie, it was a one-minute prank vid, and the fact that it's gotten so much attention is frustrating when there are so many other more bigger searches that have been stagnant for a while.
