I know this thread has been going for a bit, but I finally decided to check it out and I'm pretty fascinated by the whole backstory. I'm also surprised that there's no trail of anything between all of the details left in the email and ringtone. Either these guys are have hidden really well online, or it was literally a one-off thing just pitched at the Con and that as basically it.
But I would be surprised if they were actually developing an indie game and somehow have no online presence, especially in 2008. When I have time I want to look into them myself and if I find anything. It would be nice to get some gameplay or the ROM or something, the game sounds cool. Based on all this it definitely seems like it just never came out and didn't end up becoming anything else.
if someone can find an info sheet of all the vendors or booths at the convention then we will have the dev team instantly
I did look around for that a little bit, but it seems like there's nothing publicly online related to vendors. Even the lists on the Wayback Machine have very few attendees and I'm sure given the obscurity of this, they wouldn't be headliners on any lists either.
I think the only way to find them would be to use the names in the emails. I know you said you looked, but I'll give it a try too. It's kinda surprising with how many actual names are provided we can't find any trace of them.
I emailed the Score Syndicate Gmail on if any of the old developers still had the ringtones. It's been 3 months since I've sent it and It's been radio silent. I don't want to jump to conclusions and say that the account is either deactivated or abandoned.
* Has anyone heard from the account? I'm not sure If it's just me.
2nd:
Two weeks ago, I was visiting my parents for the weekend and while I was there, we were looking at old home videos. One of the vids was from my 9th birthday at my local skating rink. About 12 mins in, I hear my dad's phone ring and It was one of the lost ringtones and my folks were talking in the background how obesed with those ringtones I was. But then, it hit me. It was like after watching that, it unlocked a vault in my head and I realized.....
I forgot describe the ringtones. I know, it's crazy. 3 months in, and I haven't described what people should look for. Sorry about that.
So about the ringtones: I'm looking for the other 3 ringtones. 1 of them you can heard in the forums, but the rest are a bit different.
The 2nd ringtone is similar to the 1st found ringtone, but it was slower and had a darker tone to probably match the demo's mood. The main lead sounded like those organs that play in baseball stadiums and reminded me of that one Mary Poppins song from cinderella's golden carousel (the chimney one). I remember this was the background music for the demo.
The 3rd ringtone was the puppet ringleader that I mentioned earlier, laughing maniacally with an echo. It sounds like a mix between those clown laughs from killer klowns from outer space layered with a pitched down/delayed version of the sound. This sound was less than 10 secs. So, I think this could have been used for just texting.
The last ringtone was the loading screen music loop. It sounds like some trippy, fever dream music that sounded like it was from the twilight zone. I guess the closest resemblance could be "Spongebob music with carousel instruments". I know the main instruments used were a music box & that bell sound in the 1st ringtone.
That's all I have for now, I know the description probably isn't much, but I hope it helps. I also hope that this feed gets more awareness. Here,Twitter,YouTube,Discord, Anywhere.
