If I’m honest, while the film doesn’t look terrible, there are quite a few problems I see, especially with how the trailers basically make it out as if the 3rd movie never happened. Dru is absolutely nowhere to be seen or mentioned, Silas Rasbottom is suddenly working for the AVL again despite having resigned in the previous movie, among other problems I spotted.
Hopefully they’ll at least explain how he rejoined the AVL (maybe Valerie Da Vinci got fired and he stepped back up or smth?)
Also the films new villain (Maxime Le Mal) kinda seems like a weaker villain. Like he just doesn’t seem as charismatic or entertaining as previous Despicable Me villains like Balthazar Bratt, Eduardo “El Macho” Perez, or Vector Perkins. He feels a lot more like the generic “I’m evil!” type of villain.
Hopefully this film will be better, and hopefully the absence of dru will be explained, but the trailers didn’t exactly leave me with the best impression.
Let’s just hope this isn’t a repeat of Kung Fu Panda 4.

I just wonder how long this film will be, since I couldn’t help but notice the films have been getting shorter ever since Despicable Me 2, which was 98 minutes. Minions was 91 minutes, Despicable Me 3 was 90 minutes, and Minions: The Rise Of Gru was 87 minutes, making it the shortest film in the franchise.
Hopefully this will sorta be a return to form, and clock into at least a little over 90 minutes, maybe even 100?
That’s the problem, too many spin offs and not they have milked the movie series dry. There’s nothing to go off of anymore. I think the first movie was perfect to leave off of.

It will probably be...fine. A lot of fans, families, and kids will have fun. Movie will probably be fun for them.
I like the first Despicable Me a LOT but 2 never quite hooked me the same way (despite elements I do like), and 3 was...ehhhh. So I don't have too much interest, but hey, maybe the movie could surprise me.
They should've just stop at the first movie, story wise. But those talking Homer Simpson pill things sure generate a ton of profit soo I can kinda see why they would continue making these unnecessary sequels.
Welp, at least those movies don't contain a certain controversial racist comedian unlike some certain bad sequel...
And what's that other bad sequel in question? Megamind 2!

Was referring to Wreck it Ralph 2 but yeah I guess I can add MM2 to the mix. Even tho I never seen Megamind before tbh.
