He did have this to say about the Hamster Butlers Gilbert and Sullivan:
What would you say was your favorite scene to work on? Which one proved to be the most difficult?
DB: I loved everything with the frogs. It was a joy to work on. So the sillier it got, the more I enjoyed it. The hardest part of the film was possibly towards the end of production, maybe about a year from completion. We made a big choice to change Roddy’s backstory and how he lived, which meant that we had to throw out about 20 minutes of completed footage, which was very, very hard because it was some very funny stuff. Roddy originally had two hamster butlers who were hilarious. The hardest thing in animation is going in and changing, but you can’t get married to stuff. And if it makes it a better movie, it's worth doing.
I actually read about that on the movie's IMDb trivia page. It was to make him more alone, right?
DB: I think what we had originally [was] Roddy not physically alone, but completely alone, because his butlers were very subservient and respectful. So although he treated them like friends, there was obviously a class structure where they couldn't ever actually be his friends. But I don't know, maybe the new opening is a bit more on the nose where he is physically alone. __________________ Based on this, I'm losing hope again that it made it to a DVD. They were already in all the games and a trailer, I still can't see how the G&S version wouldn't be still out there somewhere. I don't know. ): What do you think?

Interesting? Maybe we should take the developers of the game as a lead since sometimes they have production material.

That's a good idea. I feel Mr. Bowers timeline seems a little off? He says towards the end of production and about a year before completion, Gilbert and Sullivan were taken out. This doesn't seem to make sense that it was that long of a period before the movie release. I was under the impression that it happened in 2006 sometime, (not 2005) before the movie was released in November 2006. I read an Over The Hedge DVD contained the trailer for Flushed Away with them, and Over The Hedge DVD came out on October 17th, 2006. So maybe it was early production OTH DVDs, but still. I feel this removal of characters may have happened not long before some sort of completion deadline and they rushed to fill in the 20 minutes they took out with other content, (example adding "Dancing With Myself" by Billy Idol, etc. etc.)
I just can't see how his timeline is correct, the Flushed Away games were released on October 24th, 2006. So it seems they just did not bother editing the games and removing them. I think the movie was very last minute. My thinking at the moment.

And I Googled "when must a movie be completed before theater release" and I got "some are finished 1–2 months before release, while others take 3 months or more."
Have anyone tried looking for books about the Movie? A lot of toddler/board/kids/picture books have pictures and stuff about the movie and some of it can and have been know to be early pre movie pictures and such.

I tried that back when the search started. No new content that aren't in the trailers. (Looks like they removed G&S from the books too.)

Good idea! But, I second this. I've checked at least a few books - nothing of G&S. Oddly enough it seems to be an old trailer and in all of the games. So it did slip out at least somewhat! I am still waiting for the Chinese Bootleg from Mercari to get to me.

I don't think that's coming and I think you got burned.
"oooh, you're a- a freaked out child in the woods..."

Yeah, I'm afraid you got scammed. Didn't you placed the order like a month ago?
Edit: Unless if you're referring to Japanese Mercari then my bad. But for American Mercari it shouldn't take that long unless again if you live outside the States using a proxy service.

You could also live a long distance away from the seller. Or a lot of mail is in the system and is stuck in a warehouse somewhere.

Yep that was my other thoughts. I often order stuff from China and Japan and know what it's like to wait a while. Especially if you use the seamail shipping method just to save pennies on shipping.
Though I did have an unfortunate experience ordering from a sketchy site years ago ordering a Miku figure and it never arrived. So yeah I was pretty much paranoid the same would happen here lol.

Hey everyone! I wanted to let everyone know I received the DVD and what was on it! It came from California and I am in Pennsylvania. I purchased it on 5/4, got it on 5/13 and put it into the DVD player on 5/14.
The DVD was shinier than what I anticipated from the image on Mercari, which it seemed it'd have more of a "faded label-y" sort of feel. Here is an image (tilted to show the shine): imgur.com/a/dPW1FLR
The DVD was having trouble playing on my PC. I wanted to try my PC first to check out the "files" on it before watching anything. I started losing hope when the files on it were dated March of 2007! I held out hope and ventured into the Living Room to play on my Blu-Ray player.
The seller had told me the DVD "only had Chinese and no English talking," and as I suspected, he/she obviously didn't check, as several language choices are present.
I chose English, and the version we all know and love began playing. No Gilbert or Sullivan on this one. ): I didn't watch the whole film but it's the normal length so I assume all is the same.
I hit menu to see if the languages would pop up again. The DVD menu we're familiar with, the characters standing on the toilet with all the bonus features appeared!
For those familiar, does this sound like it was still a bootleg? Was it an American/normal DVD (including the menu and bonus features) just put onto a DVD with Chinese/many languages?
I checked to see if the Chinese version would be any different due to some saying Chinese get earlier cuts - but it was the same movie in the language. I assume all versions on this DVD are the same just with different languages. I can still check though if anyone wants me to.
It is neat to have, however a little bit disappointing. I am not giving up hope yet - who knows what we may find or stumble upon yet still. But it wasn't here.

Good to know. From what I'm understanding, this was just the normal DVD but with a language option?
