The Omori fandom, a horrible fanbase spawned from a horrible game. Also the Sonic fandom. Need I say more about it?
As a Sonic fan, I have experience from both good Sonic fans & bad ones, all on a wild spectrum from great fans(Christian Whitehead) to udder atrocities(Jasonic1977).

There are good Sonic fans, obviously, but man are there a lot of bad/weird/cringy ones. For example, Guptil89, Kphoria, Ken Penders, and of course, Chris Chan.

I think Penders did write some good stories even if they did have a lot of pointless characters that didn't really need to exist.
Not exactly a fandom, but on this note, the "fandom" of stupid Western "red pilled" guys who go overseas to find "traditional women" in cultures away from "yucky woke ungodly atheist feminazis who are all hypergamous anyway" but then go to places where things like HIGH rates of marital cheating are considered "perfectly traditional" (see: Japan and Thailand according to studies). Watching these men later cry their eyes out on forums when they inevitably wake up to this ("But..but...I thought I got away from Western fatherless behavior! A true 'good girl' would NEVER be comfortable with cheating!!!! Ever!!!") are like fresh foundation soda to my soul
TRADITIONAL WESTERN VALUES ARE NOT THE SAME AS TRADITIONAL EASTERN VALUES. People in Japan or Thailand will really not care that "BUT BUT...Jebus said that adultery is a gross, depraved sin of gross, depraved girls!!!!" Maybe a Western cultured girl might feel shame, but don't except the same from an Eastern cultured girl. Because that may not matter in their culture as much as keeping up status and appearances. CULTURES ARE DIFFERENT, what is traditional in one culture may or may not be traditional in another. It's like they think that the only source of "tradition" are damn Judeo-Christian morals which are only really things in the Western and heavily Westernized world.
Actually it's not even like those "traditional" American values were always there. A lot of it was just modified from the European settlers. REAL traditional American values from the real olden days of the Americas was much more different back when it was filled with Native American tribes. Those "red pilled" folks would probably hate those Native traditions, especially since Native Americans around the Southern parts of USA & parts down below were of darker skins. The Pocahontas movie from Disney is a very poor, marketized look at the Native Americans. I learned more about Native Americans & their traditions through this website. Sadly, they still tend to be confused with Indians(or black people considering what's been going on in the VTuber side of things), but at this point there ain't much we can do about it, since unlike African Americans or Indians, they aren't all that commonplace compared to their glory days.
Oh absolutely, "traditional American values" merely reflect a handful of WASP traditions, and heck, no one could fully agree on stuff even then (see: But are those Irish people or Maryland Catholic settlers REALLY white like us???!!!!)

I watched a long form video on Penders and he actually had a few good viewpoints. Still crazy IMO but tried to fight for artists' rights and that sort of thing.

Yeah and many people would be surprised to learn that the KKK wasn't just racist, they hated Catholics too, so there's a certain irony in people that claim to be "Christian" having ties to those kinds of groups.

I find it interesting how media has sort of morphed people's perception of history. Like how women in the US wearing pants was a thing in the 50s. But the reason why we think it wasn't was because pants were rarely shown on women in TV and movies.
Same with stay at home wives. Working and low class families had to rely on the wife also working. Women who were stay at home wives were usually very well off and white.

Plus a lot of women did many jobs that men normally did while WW2 was going on due to a lack of available and able-bodied men.

The popular American TV & movies(and whatever else we got at the time from places like the UK & Japan) truly warped how people thought the past was like. It had a couple of truths, but was for the most part exaggerated, sometimes for comedy even.

Time to get into some YTP history.
The YTP fandom wasn't the worst in the late 2000s, but there were some quirky characters and interesting events ill explain here.
1. Conrad Slater otherwise know as Mr. Simon was the creator of the YouChewPoop forums where YTP creators would share ideas, & sources. Simon was beloved, but he had this weird quirk. Y'know the zelda CDi games, and AoSTH the classic sources. Well back in the day these sources had a nickname... AIDs. Conrad hated when these sources were used even if the poop was good. This led to "The War On AIDs" which was an attempt to overpower AIDs sources.
2. Waxonator was a YTPer who was one of the most hated within the community, & for good reason. His poops came off as pandering to "SpaDinner Poopers" as they called them. (SpaDinner was when people just took AIDs sound clips and put them over other videos.) Because of this he was one of the most popular poopers, & when people would criticize him he would just brag about how many subs he had. he was essentially the first grifter on YouTube.
3. .......MeiAIDs. You may have heard of him but if you haven't he was a notorious figure in the community. he is best well known for hacking YouTube and changing thumbnails to his channel avatar.
There are thousands of other events I could name, but what you should take away from this is YTP has a surprisingly rich history in the late 2000s, & early 2010s. i recommend going to YTPN1 and watching his old videos. He had a series called YTP News that preserves all these topics. Keep in mind its a reupload channel. He deleted most of his other videos.

Yeah I guess that exaggeration does bring up another annoying fandom-those who endlessly "stan" the 1950s as the "ideal/perfect/THIS IS America." The decent aspects of the 1950s only happened because most of the world was bombed to oblivion-it had nothing to do with how #blessed or #moral or #FREEDOM we were as a country (along with taxing millionaires at least 90%, encouraging tons of domestic manufacturing, and socialist programs like the GI bill, AND pumping ungodly amounts of "socialist" money into socialist infrastructure). And like kids were still dying from polio then and many, if not most, of the female population in fact DID work out of the home, but okay. Not to mention, the 1960s upheaval didn't come out of a vacuum for god's sake-"divergent" people (and women, the disabled, indigenous peoples, minorities, etc.) were genuinely treated THAT badly by wider society to the point of widespread protests. As a woman, I would NOT want to have lived in the 1950s!
For another fandom, the rich $$$ kids who ruined "hippie venues" like Burning Man. Fake hippies would be the term, maybe? It is ridiculous that so many of these "common, communal, shared people" events have gotten hijacked by plastic, sparkly, fake influencers waving around the latest high ticket items/high priced goods and who reflect the hyper consumerism that these hippie events HATE.

Those rich kids sound like the kind of people who would be on some stupid Disney Channel sitcom or be those kind of people who hate anything that isn't from their childhood(as in those UUUUUGGGGGHHHHHH fidget spinners, Garten of BanBan(barfs), Poppy Pla-barfs again, trap music(I AM DYING OF CRINGE), among other things I shall not write down.

Oh yeah, extremewreck2000, any fandom that treats everything that was nostalgic to them as "good" and everything modern as "bad." I feel that this can be applied to multiple franchise fandoms.

I like Disney Channel sitcoms myself and I don't get that vibe. Frankly the Hippie movement was always kinda problematic from the beginning(it kinda-sorta led to the Manson murders among other things)for as good intentioned as it was, even back in the day it had a lot of issues. People like to mythologize Woodstock 69 but it had a lot of problems. There was a pretty bad documentary about Hippies that really showed the problems with that whole culture: www.the-unknown-movies.com/unknownmovies/reviews/rev483.html
I never got the hate for fidget spinners myself, they were designed to help kids with mental issues like autism to have something to do with their hands, not the creators fault that it became trendy for Youtubers to show them off, anyways it's kinda silly to bang on about them now as spinners lost their popularity many years ago
