In Britain, we had Woolworths (which sold everything from VHS tapes, lamps, DVDs, CDs, etc.) and Gamestation (which sold video games for consoles like the PS2, Wii, PS3, DS, PSP, Xbox 360, etc.) I really loved those shops and I was sad that they went away so soon!

An old nordstrom my mom used to take me to. It was one of the few locations that had a Nordstorm Cafe. I still remember the Pene pasta fondly, as it gave me a life-long love for that kind of pasta.

Splash Mountain has sort of been falling apart for years and really needed a make over but the company sort of delayed it to even figure out what to do with it. I wasn't able to ride it last time I was at the park because it kept breaking down.

I don't think the people who are upset about the changes are alt-right trolls. It does feel weird that Disney treats Tiana as a token black character. They could have replaced Splash Mountain with anything, heck even Zootopia which would have made more sense. I think Tiana should have got her own ride instead being used as some political statement to just give Disney a pat on the back.

Yeah there have been apparently plans to retheme it since at least the debut of Iger, they just finally gave it the go-ahead due to the resurge in popularity of Princess and the Frog.

Also Zootopia wouldn't fit because of the wild west/bayou theming of the general area, though Disney seems to no longer really care about that kinda thing since Zootopia is going into Disney's Animal Kingdom, which is more about real/semi-anthropomorphic animals than fully anthro ones.

I miss Borders quite a bit, I remember when my whole family used to go to Borders to look around for stuff to get and I would spend a couple of hours browsing the CD section to find stuff that interested me, I was so bummed when they went bankrupt.

I wasn't crazy for sitdown places that much, but that was largely because most of my friends were(and still are) on the net & also that I was an isolated person who didn't have many friends at school aside from 3rd-6th grade. For me, just being able to order stuff to go was very convient(I don't even know how to spell that word, English is hard to really know how a word is spelled due to how "sound rules" tend to not exist, especially for vowels) for that reason.

I loved going to video rental stores as well as Fry's Electronics. Both were so exciting to go to and explore around. The video rental stores always had fun movie/game related decorations up.

Also, my childhood home. The building itself still exists but a new family lives there. So even though the place isn't gone, the actual furniture and everything that made it actually home to me are gone now and will never return.

Some day, that place in time...

Hopefully we’ll get some of those here in bumfuck florida soon….. do you think the food will be better there too? I’ve no problem with the food as is, but it’s just curiosity.

Yeah. Sorry you never got to go. I just looked it up, and the hotel still exists, but it’s just a generic holiday inn with a Water Park now. It has a 3.6 star rating on google.
