The biggest problem with it is that is just… doesn’t know what it wants to be. Does it want to be an episodic series about a group of imps from hell going to earth and killing targets at a clients request, or a romantic drama/sequential story, akin to The Owl House or Amphibia?
I feel like this problem could have at least been somewhat remedied if they did most of the episodic assassination stuff in the first season, and in season 2 onward they go into the more plot-heavy territory.
I could go on and on for hours, and I’d be happy to do so, but I’ll leave it at this for now.
And no, I don't just "not like them because they're popular," I STILL love Invader Zim despite it being overexposed and "overhyped" all of the internet to this day.
Like, how the hell am I expected to constructively criticize the show if I’m just going to be labeled a “hater” or being accused of attacking vivziepop? Plus, even if it’s genuinely constructive, they’ll just try to tell me why I’m wrong and that the show is fine as is.
Plus, I just can’t stand blitzo. I’m sorry, but he’s such an asshole. I get it, he’s in hell and all, but if you’re trying to make him sympathizable (for lack of a better word), then maybe don’t have him stalking, sexually harassing, or threatening to rape his employees? I’m sorry, but this man could end up falling off a cliff and bleeding out, and I wouldn’t feel bad at all.
Plus, there are just way too many questionable writing decisions to count. I mean, who thought it was a good idea to kill Chazwick Thurman off in his debut? He was important to the backstory of M&M’s characters, and yet he was seen as dispensable.
That was Exes and Ooh’s, and if I’m honest, the episode wasn’t good. In fact, I thought it was awful. Definitely not the worst by any means, but kinda pretty damn close. It doesn’t hold a candle to Unhappy Campers… oh god, that episode was just dreadful from start to finish.
