Did you ever own "foreign language media?"...

Hey, my memory is absolute piss, plus I'm CONSTANTLY trying to compartmentalize/"pattern" everything back in English which doesn't help-that's one of the issues of trying to learn a language past middle school age. Your brain just doesn't have the flexibility, and "patterns" have cemented in your brain at that point creating new roadblocks to language learning. As have sounds-native accents are near impossible past a certain point. I'm not naturally gifted in ANY way with languages (CONTRARY to what  others say about me) and it takes me a lot longer to "get" stuff that other language learners too. 

And yeah, a lot of immigrants sadly never teach their kids their own native language, which means their children typically lose out on future job opportunities. Some parts of the USA outright REQUIRE you to know another language for the "cool" and "respectable" positions. It definitely sucks that you never learned German-I mean, yeah you don't necessarily NEED it to survive there, but it speeds everything up and helps you feel much less like an outsider. Plus, I couldn't imagine being around Europeans who are world renowned for their language skills! I would feel so embarrassed with my piddly little "intermediate" foreign language skills compared to say, a Swiss person who can write formal research reports in like 3 languages. 

(Also keep in mind that academic, technical, artistic, "survival," "tier ____ words" are all different forms of a language and thus require extra effort to pick up on)

I've just got another one that's in German, since I'm currently in Austria. It's the lady and the tramp dvd and it has a couple of languages, with ond being English. The dvd was released in 2018 apperantly.

Interesting that it has English too! Anything special about the DVD otherwise, like special features and such? (my younger sib and I used to spend hours on DVD special features like simple games and voice actor interviews!)

I used to have lots of the Base and Jungle set "Pocket Monster" Japanese Pokémon cards in 2000-2001. A girl I knew at school at the time had lots of them as one of her relatives lived in Japan and would send her them. I traded my English cards to her for any multiples of the Japanese cards she had then. It was the first time I had seen the Japanese cards until I got the book Pokémon Trading Card Game - Fossil Expansion and saw a lot more in there. At some point in the late 2000s, I gave away a lot of my cards, including them, and while I don't have regrets, I do kind of wish I still had them.
