This is an interesting topic. During my first search the only thing I could find about this game is oddly enough old rumors about a Soul Calibur remake game coming soon to the DS. Here are few forum posts I found discussing that rumor.: neogaf.com/threads/soul-calibur-remake-on-ds.30901/ www.killermovies.com/forums/f66/t360286.html After that, I did a cursory search on the Bootleg Games Wiki and their forums for Soul Calibur but I didn't find anything. I recommend reposting these photos and asking if anyone on the Bootleg Games community knows anything about this obscure DS game.

What a weird cart. I'd love to hear of it's origins. Whoever produced it must've had access to materials from 2 and 3 proper.
I know, right? Sadly, I don't know the origins as I only saw it at a flea market once.
I used to see pokemon bootleg carts at flea markets all the time, some of which have no info available online. There must be a whole treasure trove of obscure bootlegs that are yet to be fully archived at such places
I'm a huge Soulcalibur fan, so this picked my interest immediately. It seems the cart was poorly programmed, explaining the constant fades to black, which are usually proof of instability. I can't help but think that all of this reads like a creepypasta (especially the last part), perhaps someone made it with those intensions. It's also funny to me that whoever made the bootleg didn't include Nightmare or Siegfried since they're the most important characters lore wise, but that's just me going off lmao.
Would love to see where this leads to, I'm especially interested in the MIDI music.
The assets could've been directly extracted from SCII and SCIII, so it HAD to be made after 2006.

LOL? what a bizarre game. i’m not familiar with soul calibur but my guess here is that this was made by some random foreign company attempting to bank off of soul calibur’s success by tricking people into thinking it Is the actual game, especially before it released officially or if it was banned initially. i know in china especially with games that were banned or weren’t released there were bootlegs attempting to capitalize off the success, like the infamous pokémon diamond and jade versions (which i believe were crystal bootlegs). that would be my guess, anyway.

Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Jade were actually Telefang bootlegs.

i was under the impression pokémon diamond and jade were bootlegs of crystal but released as sequels to telefang. is that not correct? i know that also happens a bunch legally, as the entirety of the petz games outside of the original PC ones are all random games that ubisoft had the rights to that weren’t released in the US yet, and so they just released the game under the Petz title despite all the games being completely disconnected from each other.
