honestly just thought this would be an interesting question
you can be as specific as you want (i.e films from the 80s, dubs of anime, obscure horror games etc) or can list multible
my favorite ones are lost youtube videos, from animations people have made (animatics, pmvs, amvs all that jist) to general fandom videos and whatever else along those lines interest me, i dont blame people for not looking for those because A) theres more interesting stuff and wouldnt be entertained by finding a video about a cat from a book series that multible people have made B) most people here i assume havent grown up w stuff like animation memes (mostly because people here are over 18 but you get my point)

yeah thats basically it i think
I like old YouTube lost media. There's just so much of it, it never ends you never do run out of lost YouTube videos.
Old fanmade stuff is great, but to be more specific, I really love finding old Winamp skins since I still sometimes use that software to listen to music.
Also, indie games that never got much recognition. There are plenty of those, but the ones I find most interesting are older ones that were only distributed as physical copies (usually CD or floppy). Or, games that are more well-known, that got ported to very specific platforms.
I like lost film media, especially stuff like deleted scenes alternate cuts, and even cancelled movies.
that and lost TV shows.
Fr, after the popeye animatic got leaked, I hope more cancelled movies do as well. I’d love to see Larrikins, B.O.O.: Bureau of Otherworldly Operations, Me and My Shadow, Scoob! Holiday haunt, and maybe the batgirl movie. I’d love to have a collection.
As for deleted scenes, I know nobody asked but I made a thread involving my personal favorite search that got me into lost media (The land before time: deleted scenes), so check that out and comment if you wish.

That too, still holding out hope on Boogie Town, Spring Break 83, Black Water Transit and Hippie Hippie Shake turning up one of these days.
I'm well aware of the deleted scenes in Land Before Time and I too hope they turn up, I didn't comment on that thread cause I didn't feel like I had much to add that hadn't already been said.

That makes sense. I’m hoping that some big lost media youtuber like LSuperSonicQ will makes video on the subject, since his fan base and he both have some impeccable skill at spreading word of mouth, even if he isn’t a part of the search himself. The problem is though, I don’t think he’s really into lost film media, let alone something like this where the footage is largely believed to be lost or destroyed.
Not just that, the search has unfortunately been dead since October last year, so I made the thread in an attempt to revive it. The previous search never contacted any head animators to my knowledge like John Pomeroy or Dick Zondag, and I do know that pomeroy did Animation on the extended sharptooth attack according to the Pudleiner storyboards.
To be more specific, one shot he animated was the deleted shot of sharptooth ramming his head into the dead tree. The animation of sharptooth in that bit did get partially preserved, as it was reused in the final battle, although he instead rams into a rock wall.
According to Gary Goldman in a partially outdated interview from 2010, he claimed the possibility that the original drawings for the extended sharptooth attack did still exist in universals archive, but that the actual negatives containing the scene were discarded.

Don Bluth sadly also believes the footage is lost, as he confirmed he doesn’t have it in his 2022 Autobiography Somewhere Out There. The image below is sourced from the Lost Media Wiki.
Web based content. Searches for this often comes down to combing through old forums, reading comments from anonymous accounts, long abandoned by it's owner. Comments that probably weren't given a second thought after they had been posted. And then people decades later dig them up trying to find something.
Perhaps a century from now, after the LMW has died out, a new lost media community will arise and comb through the long abandoned accounts on a preserved mirror of this forum. It is really intriguing.
Predominately lost film and TV stuff, as others said (like alternate versions, cuts, and so on). The more out there and obscure, the better.
Thailand's first horror film? I love it already.
A SOV horror film that survived as a copy of a copy? Tell me more!
Some obscenely long cut of a box office bomb? There's a story there.
A bizarre sitcom from the 1960s? Gimme!
A missing mondo film from Africa? I need to get a Letterboxd page for this now.
Add lost deleted scenes from 80’s animated movies (The BFG, Rock-A-Doodle, The Land Before Time, All Dogs go to Heaven, The Pebble and the Penguin, etc.), and cancelled movies to that list, and we are in the same cruise.
Is It bad that I hope more cancelled movies get leaked online in the future? I know it’s illegal, but I’d love to watch more. Larrikins, B.O.O, and Me and My Shadow seem interesting, especially boo.

no it's not bad at all, I only just recently found out about Larrikins and it bums me out that it didn't happen, I how wonder far along Newt and Gigantic got before they were cancelled?
