If anyone lives in the Pacific Northwest here and grew up a watching Nickelodeon and other kids networks around 2002-3, let me know if you remember these.
Nickelodeon and any other cable channel is still liable to air locally produced commercials, based on the cable system and location. So you never know.
That’s probably it, then. So that means finding breaks during kids shows recorded specifically from the northwest area. That’s probably gonna be tricky.

I looked up a few of those and it doesn’t appear to be it.
While the fact that I’ve never found it makes it seem pretty likely that it was something local, I seem to remember seeing it on Nickelodeon (since it was the network with regular ads that I watched the most), and which definitely isn’t an affiliated channel.

Growing up, I remember seeing a series of ads shown on daytime TV that I remember having this instrumental piano tune I really liked. I remember seeing them in about 2002-3. I remember they were filmed in black-and-white, and were about helping kids, but I guess it was education related? I also remember they would sometimes air a few in a row; l liked how as the music in the background ended with the first commercial, it would start again with the next one. I must have seen these on Nickelodeon or maybe Cartoon Network, since the other channels I usually watched didn't have regular ads. However, not once in the last decade (during which time l've gone back and looked through many things I saw during the early 2000s) have I come across these, in spite of all the commercial breaks from the time that are online. So I'm wondering if maybe it was something specifically shown in the area I live? (I live in the northwest, for reference)
And no, I don’t believe it was the Sylvan learning commercials. I’ve seen quite a few of those and they don’t have the iconic piano theme that these ads did. I still remember the refrain it always opened with. It was a bit similar to the opening of Vanessa Carlton’s “A Thousand Miles”. And it was in D major, I’m 100% sure of this.
Suggestion is to watch all the many many hours of content on YouTube of compilations of CBC Playground and you might find the show. I'm not one to want to sit through all that time.
There isn’t that much of the CBC Playground era online. In fact, some of the stuff appears to have disappeared offline. I remember watching one of Lisa and Drew’s interstitials not that long ago that I can no longer find.
Your link works for me! Great find. This doesn’t help, and you probably saw it, but this looks like the link where the Reddit post got the image from: media.historymuseum.ca/captions/STcp11_e.htm
