Hey everyone so awhile back I made a thread looking to identify a song and it's lyrics in a movie JonTron made a video on called "The Skateboard Kid". Since then the song has been identified as "The Isle Of Rock N Roll" Written by Billy Cloffi and Freddie Cannon, and outside of the snippet in the movie, it is lost.
I talked to a guy on a fb community dedicated to Billy Cloffi, who claimed he was the real guy and said it was not written for the movie and was also a full song. He said he'd look around for it to see if he still has a copy but he never got back to me so the trail has seemingly gone cold...
I'd still really like to find this song though so I am asking for help if anyone wants to help dig around for leads or maybe give me some pointers on how to track it down? I feel like it's out there somewhere and I really want to hear the full thing... Here is what's currently available of the song. From the YouTube upload of the movie. youtu.be/-ltI7CcTAKs?t=527
There's a very old cartoon I been wondering about for some time. When I was a kid, we were given a bunch of vhs tapes many had tapings of old school cartoons on them such as Popeye, Superman, Bugs Bunny etc. Many of the tapes didn't have labels either. One cartoon in particular I recall was probably the oldest of the bunch.
The cartoon was black and white and took place in a kitchen. There were several anthropomorphic fruits and vegetables dancing and singing around. The main character I believe was a potato and he was having fun dancing around with his sweetheart until she was kidnapped by some badguys they took her away kicking and screaming and the potato guy had to find her and save her.
I know it's not a whole lot to go on it's a fairly standard plot for a cartoon of that era. I always found it to be weird and a little mysterious though likely because it was on an unlabeled vhs tape and my only real exposure to classic cartoons at the time was Popeye and Bugs Bunny. I had no idea there were other lesser known cartoons like that lol it also may have been the first truly black and white cartoon I watched.
The games from the old Sesame Workshop site are lost. They had all kinds of games on there. One was called "Make a Monster" where you made your own muppet. There were also tons of puzzles, coloring pages, etc. It's a charity site now with no games and because they were all flash-based, none of them work, even if you look it up on Wayback machine.
Anyways I'm interested in finding this too I watched a lot of tv growing up lol so there's a chance I've seen it myself. It does sound kind of familiar. I know it's not in here but this is a playlist I put together with a bunch of old shows from Canada in the 90s and 2000s. Might jog your memory who knows? www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLUZC0Gk2eG5gyzeYgcDwbK0c-Y13T6NuD
The only travelog type show i can remember is called Are We There Yet? World Adventure It had half hour and 7 minute segments but It aired on Treehouse and I don't recall any puppets in that. Mind you I only seen it a couple times.
From my understanding, the company that used to be CMT is now owned by CORUS. I know it might be a long shot, but has anybody tried contacting CORUS to see if there are records going back that far?
Otherwise, I have an idea about some charts that could be checked, but I'm not sure if they go back that far, as it is over 20 years ago at this point, after all.
I believe it was owned by Rawlco Radio during that time. I will contact both Rawlco and Corus to see if any records exist of the videos that played on those channels.
I hate Corus Entertainment with a passion but if they are able and willing to help find this i might regain some respect for them lol i really want to hear this song. I went through a bunch of wiki listings of Canadian alternative artists haven't found anything close to this yet.
Hi yes I know what the show this was actually made for adults guano was made for I believe kids but it also aired on Nickelodeon and the United States on Teleton in Canada
Idk how either of these shows was made for kids lol. I seen a sketch in Guano where a character is trying to grab another character's exposed breasts lol... Don't think that's kid rated. Mind you both shows have sketches that aren't like that so I guess some of them might have made there way onto a kid's network or kids' show like Kablam.

So I was debating for awhile making this thread as the show in question is at least partially found. Mostly I'm making the thread cause I am curious as to wtf this was and if anyone else remembers it. I randomly stumbled across it looking for old shows from my childhood and the art style is strangely familiar. Thing is, the show is weird and often times inappropriate which leaves me wondering who was this made for?. There are 13 short episodes available on YouTube on a playlist but there is no record of the show anywhere else online so I have no idea if that's all the show put out or if there is more. To make matters more confusing there is a nearly identical show listed on Teletoon's past programming called "Guano" which is also often times inappropriate. That playlist has 50 very short episodes complied into 3-5 minute videos.
Neither of these shows have any episode listings that I can find outside of the playlists. So again I have no idea if these are fully found or if there's more to discover. Are the same show with two different names or are they two separate shows made with the same artist? Who were these made for? They certainly couldn't have aired during the day lol...
darn, I hope this gets found. I like the sound. I agree with some people on the subreddit it sounds more along the lines of Del Amitri, not a country artist. I've come across lots of music over time but don't recall this one. Though it sounds familiar in sound.
I do recall an old golden book story about a cat that went to school i don't know if this is the same thing but it was from the 70s i believe and was a very large book, part of the "giant golden books" series i think they were called. I believe the cat did have overalls and possibly a hat as well. It had that old golden book vinage style with smooth watercolors. Sadly i don't remember the name but will look for it if it sounds at all similiar to yours.

I thought of that too but i find Wikipedia is pretty good with speedily getting rid of fake information. If it was on Wikia i would believe this is the case more. As far as I can remember Tin And Zig was listed there.
Things still slip through the cracks now and then. There was a whole fake shod that was up on there for ages that nobody realized was fake
Yeah I guess that's true. Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part cause one of the shorts i vaguely remember still isn't identified. However there are weird names of short series that aired on Teletoon. Take Kaput And Zosky for example lol Tin And Zig doesn't sound that out of place for a show.

I just made another thread about the death of Teletoon. Figured i may as well make this thread too as I feel the chances of finding this show are now even less. On the former programming for Teletoon on Wikipedia there is a show called Tin And Zig.
I mentioned it another thread of Teletoon shows but its the only one that remains a mystery.
There is virtually nothing about this show online. Not even a photo that I can find. I'm wondering if maybe it was a short series that played in between shows. Does anyone have any idea what Tin And Zig might have been?
