This may be a weird one, considering it could be regarded as filler content. However, considering it has a very odd story connected to it, I thought it was suitable to post.
Around 2008 to 2011, there were two videos posted to Youtube, by an aspiring artist, called "The Nickelodeon Debacle". I don't remember the user's name or have a URL, but I do remember what he talked about.
The video starts with the guy talking about how much he used to love Nickelodeon and all their programming. He goes on for a while about how it influenced him and his potential career. He then begins to talk about a tour he took of Nickelodeon's Animation Studio and how he saw pre-production for a show that he considered "bad" by his standards. That show would eventually become The X's.
He recounts asking a question about Invader Zim, only for the guy who was running the tour to get very annoyed. He said that the mere mention of Zim ticked him off. The guide replied that Nickelodeon would never revive Zim, much to his dismay.
There was probably some other stuff mentioned in the video, but those are the best descriptors I can use here.
However, this is where it goes from fluff to potential Lost Media.
In the second video, he talks about pitching a show to Nickelodeon. He talks about how Zim, again, was a big influence. However the exec he talked to mentions that the show should be "Funny...like, CatDog funny". He pitches the show and the exec passes. However, later, he's passed off to Fred Seibert. This is pre-Adventure Time and the tail end of "Oh Yeah Cartoons". From here, Seibert asks him to pitch a storyboard. As you can guess, the show was passed on.
After both these videos dropped, he put the animatic up on Youtube.
God help me, I can't remember what the show was really about, but it involved three characters who were monsters of some kind and how they had a paranormal detective agency. It's a very loose description, but it's the best I could muster, since it's been years since I've seen it.
If ANYONE remembers this series of videos, let me know. They've been removed from Youtube and seemingly erased from existence.
I'm guessing it was for either or both of these reasons.
1.The guy wanted a career in animation and talking down on a potential company that could help him, may have been a bad idea.
2. The storyboard may have been copyrighted material.
Anyway, sorry for the long post, but I thought this was interesting.
