I've always been interested in Pokémon bootlegs, and the most unique out of all them, at least for me has to be 파워몬스터, more commonly known as Powermon. This game was released on PC sometime between 2000 and 2001. Not much is known about its developer other that their name was ID Software, yeah, ID Software, not to be confused with id Software, and that they were based in South Korea.
It's a sidescroller were you play as a slightly redesigned Pikachu and the enemies are almost all based on gen 1 Pokémon such as Slowpoke and Jigglypuff. I guess that the game was succesful enough to have 2 sequels that were also released on PC, however only the first one seems to be available for download. (And it's not even the original version but a Chinese translation released in Taiwan). Not only that, but there's also a few compilation disks that contain 2 or 3 games from the series.
But yeah, like I said before the sequels haven't been archived, all that remains is a bunch of gameplay videos. I did find what seems to be a page with download links for these games but all I got was a bunch of useless, corrupted files. I don't know Korean so maybe I did something wrong idk. I also found this website but I couldn't figure out what it is supposed to be.
So yeah, that's pretty much it, funny bootleg game have sequels and sequels get lost. They don't seem to be extremely rare games though, I could find a copy in a Korean shopping site, so it's definitely not a "Kekcroc" situation.
