This one may be familiar to people that watched the show "Pinwheel" on Nickelodeon.
Balthazar the Caterpillar (Balthazar, le mille-pattes) is a series of shorts created by Jac Lelièvre in the 70's for the French channel FR3. It was based on comic strips made by himself and the shorts were pretty popular among children at that time. It aired in the US through the show Pinhweel on Nickelodeon. It apparently has 60 episodes created for it but only a few of them are available online. You can watch them here. Does anyone know where can i find more episodes of it?

Are you sure you're not confusing this with Professor Balthazar? I didn't watch Pinwheel when it was on, so I'm sure I don't know everything they aired, but I have seen what's online and I don't remember this at all. I do remember seeing Professor Balthazar. Not finding anything about this on Google either (which again, could be because not everything about what aired on Pinwheel is documented).

Well, it did aired on Pinwheel. I found an episode of it online that has a Balthazar the Caterpillar episode on it. It' in the minute 16:11.
Oh! I must have seen this at some point because this is where I first saw The Rabbit with Checkered Ears, but I guess I forgot about it. Might not have helped that I didn't know what it was at the time.
