Ok, not sure if this counts as media (or maybe it could be), but something’s been living in my head rent free for a while now. You may have seen it somewhere in your life. A couple nights ago, I was watching South Park, and it was the episode where Cartman turned his hand into Jennifer Lopez and it became a huge star and caused trouble with the real Jennifer Lopez. In the episode, they went to this place at the mall which had a cheap little DIY music video studio where you could get a VHS of your creation (I know, so archaic!) and Cartman made a video for “Jennifer Lopez.” This reminded me of something similar I found at this huge McDonald’s in Florida in 2014. It was built like a photo booth, but you could film your own music video inside of it, and I think there were props somewhere inside. However, it was out of order. I googled something like “music video studio place at mall” after watching the episode and found a brief Reddit thread where someone was wondering about the exact same thing. Others replied that they remembered something like it, and there were also accounts of seeing one of those music video booths at theme parks. Besides that thread, I couldn’t find much else. Does anyone remember those music video studio booths or stores at the mall where you could make a music video and get it on VHS? (Admins - feel free to move this thread to the appropriate category if this is not the place for it)
