I'm trying to recall this warning screen I once saw, but I'm having some trouble tracking it down. I remember seeing it when I was watching reviews of some niche horror films online many years ago (around 2013-2014), though I can't place which film this could've come from (or the review thereof). The screen itself was visually similar to the PS2 RSOD, though it was just a static image; a dark red, cloudy void with some white text on it. The version of it I saw sticks out in my mind as having been ripped from a high generation VHS. I remember this screen having a pretty disturbing track accompanying it, not too dissimilar to the music used in those Goldwater law firm commercials: youtu.be/MZoxfV7Ty6c I seem to recall the reviewer pointing out how unnerving this screen was, but I could be misremembering.
I tried to transcribe part of the track that I remembered on piano. It was very similar instrumentation-wise to the Goldwater track: thing.mp3 (147.14 KB)
I don't recall the film itself, unfortunately. I was watching a lot of different things at the time and this could've come from any one of them. I suspect that it's foreign, possibly Japanese or Russian, but I'm not 100% on that. I'm certain that the screen itself was shown in a review of the film on YT, I remember reading comments about how other viewers were creeped out by it.
UPDATE: I found it... It's the warning screen for a company called "Aroma Planning", and the film it comes from is called "Women's Flesh: My Red Guts". I found it in a review of the film on YouTube by a user named SpookyRice. I won't link the review due to its NSFW nature, but you can find it on his channel in one of his Japanese Horror playlists (the review itself is unlisted). Turns out this review was only posted about 3 years ago... I suppose I confused it with something else... He also mentioned the likeness of this warning screen to those Goldwater ads, so I guess I was unintentionally paraphrasing him as well :// Anyway... Someone ought to upload it to the CLG Wiki.
